How can we achieve that goal?
any other ideas?
Advertising sucks!!!!!!! Do not EVER advertise like some people such as 'xxxxxx' (removed because I trigger the anti-spam filter) (if you browse 4chan you've seen the spam messages)
If we want more users one way is to link people to interesting threads.
>Advertising through affiliation?
Hahaha. No.
It's obvious Google crawls this website, a lot. Maybe, if people posted lots of interesting things, people searching for interesting things would find it and alas, we get more interesting people instead of braindead clickers who wouldn't contribute anything worthwhile. How about that instead of ideas reserved for capitalistic gains and Invisionary.
The only good way to "advertise" is to tell intelligent friends about this place, with a few words about the customs of the place.
At SAoVQ the same question surfaced:
> A big difficulty is that most of us can't really invite friends without spending an hour explaining the concept of anonymous boards, and how it's unrelated to idiots wearing Guy Fawkes masks.

As a result someone wrote a text called "A Guide to Anonymous Boards", that we are currently improving on this wiki page: http://tanasinn.info/wiki/A_Guide_to_Anonymous_Boards - right now it's not very good, but once it becomes good enough, I think 4-ch could benefit from this too.
See the problem with that guide is that my irl friends all have ADD or just plain suck and would never read something that long...
I don't recommend advertising much.
I'm completely new, its my second day frequenting this board, but I LOVE it as an alternative to the brainlessness of 4chan today. You guys actually discuss things here, ASWELL as taking the piss. Its great. Seriously, don't draw too much attention, people who want to find this place will, cause you certainly don't want a thousand people screaming IMMA CHARGIN MAH LAZAR!!! in every single topic.

They probably won't fit in if they don't have the patience to read lengthy articles.
Hmm why is this board so dead I wonder?

So what? If there were more people here, we could just have more moderators to clean up all the crap.
