Even if we could transfer atoms into a frequency anything from 1 MHz up to the range of gamma rays those frequency's while moving at the speed of light will still run into extra particles in the way. Think of it this way. Why do Radio and even light transmissions have a limit as to how far they can go? This is because of the fact that there are other atoms in the way. Even in the Huge gaps in between galaxys ( if the big bang theory is correct) There still should be random particles in the way to Create a maximum range as to how far they can go. I don't Know about you but if I were "transported a few feet a very small amount of my body would be seperated from my body on the other side. while yes this may be practical for very short short distances If you utilize it in long ranges the more the transmission would be interupted along the way therefore the more matter would be left behind. Even transmitting yourself in a radiation frequency that can travel through most matter it would still be leaving pieces if itself behind. More than likely the military would try to utilize this to transfer weapons of mass dist I dont know about you but I dont want a small piece of Uranium or anything stuck in my brain.
