The Nobel Prize winning physicist Niels Boehr once said that matter can exist as either waves or particles. This is the key to teleportation.

We treat light as either waves or particles using our current technology... just look at telecommunications. We treat light as a particle and send it through fibers to reassemble all of the various 'colors' on the other side. Waves would interfere with one-another in the transmission... particles would not!
