Pure physics and mathematics are extremely interesting, but not useful in the sense that you could convince your grandparents of how useful it is.

Engineering is useful in the traditional sense, and still moderately interesting.

I advise you pick what is most interesting to you, as a 'use' for it will always exist in some aspect.
