now with windows version! it kicks ass
too bad it's $25 ;_;
right now i'm running with the default clock and the miniature weather / battery / wireless widgets on "floating" mode. it's ... so beautiful I want to register but it's pretty expensive for a little bit of prettification.
Now that looks useful.
Bad name though. Makes it sound like something right out of KDE.
holy crap that's ugly
Move over OS X Tiger's Dashboard. Some bastard already made a goddamn clone.
Uh... Actually, Konfabulator was around before Dashboard; in fact, when Dashboard was announced, there was a furor by fans of Konfabulator similar to the whole Sherlock/Watson debacle. There are a bit too many similarities (they both use JavaScript as a backend (ugh, why JavaScript?) and have superfluous user interfaces), but really, they're both just bloated extensions of Desk Accessories introduced back in Mac OS 6 (I think).

Oh, nothing really, I suppose. It's just more commonly seen only on web pages. Though, upon researching Dashboard a bit more, I'm finding that Dashboard "widgets" are actually HTML pages laid out by CSS and controlled by JavaScript and such, using WebCore (the OS-wide HTML framework), so I guess it makes sense.
I'm just hoping that Apple doesn't fuck up and make it possible to run Dashboard code from normal web pages in Safari. If I wanted to suddenly find my hard drive erased just because I visited a certain web page, I'd use Windows and IE...
