how should I pronounce .dmg files? I immedietly started calling them damage files.
I opted for "demage"
dee-em-gee
Can't say I've ever pronounced that out loud, but if I did, I'd just go with >>3 to avoid confusion.
>I immedietly started calling them damage files.
That sounds like the best way to do it.
>>1 got it.
Incidentially, .pdf is "pedofile".
>>6 rofl, well pointed out.
dee-em-gee from now on then
>>7 English letter pronounciation is so bulky it makes my brain hurt. Anyone else think so?
I pronouce mysql "my sqell"
.rar should become .RAWR! in that case.
.shtml is "shitmill"
.png is interesting in that it has an official recommendation for pronounciation, which is 'ping'.
.damage is the best way :) or just disk image if its serious
SQL = ess que ell, punch anyone who calls it "sequel"
Sequel....that's pretty good. Sorry. : P
I agree with >>13, only I'm not quite so agressive in my enforcement. "Sequel" makes me cringe -- if people try to correct my calling it, "S-Q-L", then screw 'em.
What's worse is when people as about "SQL Server" -- as if Microsoft's package is the only SQL server out there.
I'm so glad you guys are against pronouncing SQL as "sequel". I totally agree with you.
.html = hot mole
Ooh can I? Pretty please? I've got a candidate with prior infractions!
