I am trying to input a unicode symbol in Powerpoint. It is symbol 0x5C (under "Symbol" in Character Map). When I type Alt-0x5c, nothing happens (the computer beeps). When I try to paste it into powerpoint, I get this: \f1. It is only by changing the font to Symbol that I get what I want to appear (the symbol for "therefore" in symbolic logic-I can't get it to show up in Internet Explorer either). Is there a faster way to get the symbol I want to appear than copying and pasting it from character map and changing the font to Symbol?

There is an Insert Symbol somewhere in the menu. Use that. I would tell you where but they move everything around in every version.

While we're in an unicode font thread... There has to be someone browsing the "ASCII" boards with firefox in Debian GNU/Linux. Any tips on how to make the spacing not totally fuck up the pretty, pretty drawings?

To wit, my problem seems to be that some spaces are apparently intended to be the width of two latin characters, but instead take up just one character's space.
