i'm looking to build a lightweight server for running a bittorrent client and nfs shares, etc. i built it, with a cheap pc-chips mobo, but it failed after about 3 weeks of nonstop use (not really a huge surprise, but oh well). (yes, i now know pc-chips aren't the best brand for this sort of thing lol)

still, this begs the question: what do i look for in a motherboard for a system like that? it's not especially taxing (i think the load was around 1% the whole time; i ran slackware without x installed), but it does take a long, constant strain.

obviously, i'm not looking to pay too much here, and i can spare a night or so once a week to give it some rest, but it basically needs to be on both when my desktop is (it houses my music collection) and when it's not (bt, an ftp server)

is it too much to ask to get a motherboard that will do this? ideally, i'm looking for a combo with a cpu and vga, but i'm not asking you guys to do all the work for me. ;)

tl;dr: what to look for in a cheap motherboard that is going to be on all the time; speed not important.

Chaintech 6BTM, bought 1999 or so, runs 24 hours a day from 2003 (usually without much load though).
Any motherboard will do, you better worry about decent PSU.
