Hello. I saved my old pc's 111GB hard drive and turned it into an external. Before giving away the pc, I swapped in an older 13gb hard drive and installed Windows XP on it. It runs fine, however, the parallel ATA cable I inserted into the IDE Connector slot doesn't go in all the way. Like, it's in enough so that the pins connect, but it's just slightly ajar. Will this pose as a problem in the future? Also, I noticed that the hard drive gets warm when I run the computer; is this fine as well? Thank you much.
Did you try another ATA cable?
i dont have another. i'd just like to know if it's ok that the ATA cable is slightly ajar in the IDE connector slot. I know I could manually align the pins, but for now, is this setup alright?
