Shooting down a satellite in space (57)

I think this falls under tech support.

I hate a certain satellite TV company and I to shoot down/fuck up their satellite so they go out of business. How would it be best to make it non-operational if I can shoot it out of the sky.

I was thinking about a high powered laser to blind the receivers but are their better ideas?

make a space shuttle crash into it. it'll be a lot easier than trying to shoot down or fuck up the satellite yourself.

A commercial laser, pointed at an artificial satellite through the atmosphere, is capable of blinding CCDs operating in the laser's range until the laser is turned off. I know of no lasers you can purchase, not even commercial ones, that would be powerful enough to burn out that hypothetical CCD from Earth's surface.

But this is a TV relay satellite. You'll need to construct a satellite dish the size of a small car and use the equivalent of the power your entire house consumes to jam it. And even then, the authorities will trace your jamming signal by the leaked power and jail you on terrorism charges.

well... it might be possible to use this kinda thing... if you got access to one of those ^_^

or you could try to somehow hijack the satelite and "correct" its course

That's a chemical laser. OP is going to poison himself trying to get it to work.
