Yeah, ball bearings. Actually hitting a satellite with anything is pretty tricky, but aiming to merely place a field of junk like bearings or popcorn or icecubes in its orbit as your rocket passes by is significantly easier to pull off. The satellite’s own orbital velocity provides all the killing power. This is probably one of the cheapest and lowest-tech methods.
