How do you change the theme in XP? I've read a few tutorials on how to do this, but I still cant get anything to work. I've replaced uxtheme.dll, and I've put the theme in the themes folder in windows. what else do I need to do? A step by step guide would work the best! Thanks!

It's possible windows is restoring the original uxtheme.dll from it's backup. Verify with checksum and try one of the Neowin patchers if it persists.

After patching, clearing the cache, rebooting, and copying the new theme, just go to themes in the control panel. You can choose your theme from there. Optionally, you can double click the .msstyle file you downloaded.
