How do I configure Norton Internet Security 2011 to enable me to use file sharing programs like Emule or Shareaza?

Get rid of it. Honestly, there should be a law against `internet security suites'.

Get Microsoft Security Essentials and use Windows Firewall (or your router, if it has a firewall built-in). Just as secure, no cost, no nagware, and setting up things like this is trivial.

Well, Norton Internet Security expired recently so I switched over to McAfee this time hoping it would be better. Unfortunately it still says I'm firewalled. Anybody got any tips?

Darn it, Peter. Just use MSI. Also, if you're having problems filesharing it might be a Firewall in your router which you can bypass with a program called Hamachi.
