Question about the English class in the 1993 film "Three of Hearts"? (5)

in this film there was a scene set in a writing class with Joe (William Baldwin) and Ellen (Sherilyn Fenn) where he reads a love poem by a Japanese poetess to impress the object of his affection - he tries to pass it off as his own work but the teacher exposes his blatant plagiarism.
What is the poetess name and the poem title?
Grateful for a steer on this.

I did some poking around, but not much luck. Without a transcript or even a single line of the poem, I don't see much hope for illumination.
It's likely the poem was just made up for the film (Did he speak Japanese? Translating haiku or senryu into English would destroy the structure). I have not seen this movie, though.

Here's some names of historical female poets from Japan anyway:

Ono no Komachi
Sei Shōnagon
Murasaki Shikibu
Ishigaki Rin
Yosano Akiko

> The oldest written work in Japanese literature is Kojiki in the 8th century, in which Ō no Yasumaro (太安万侶) recorded Japanese mythology and history as recited by Hieda no Are (稗田阿礼), to whom it was handed down by his ancestors.

Author wasn't female

> Nara period poets
> The Man'yōshū included also many female poets who mainly wrote love poems.

First mention of women in the wiki.
