ITT we make mocking reviews of bad anime!

Xenosaga:

I liked the first half of this show. It was hilariously bad, as opposed to the second half which was just tediously bad. I haven't played the game, so I don't know how much of the ridiculous plot is from the game, and what was added by the anime. Either way, pretty much everything the show tries to do falls flat.

It has spaceships, each one bigger and more awesomely powerful than the last, lots and lots of girls wearing non-sensical outfits, immense amounts of evil space aliens that are either invincible or die if you look at them sternly (whichever is convenient to the plot), ominous-looking guys trying to quote Nietzsche, and a whole lot of German words stuck in for no apparent reason. It is also packed full of references and plot elements that are never explained nor used for anything, obvious debris from a much larger (and I can only assume, even more contrieved and silly) plot from the game.

Verdict: Laugh at a couple of episodes, then stop watching. I doesn't get any better.

The plot is (from what I can tell; I haven't played the game either) mostly the same, except that Virgil (the annoying guy who talks about how much he hates Realians) dies a lot earlier.

Also, this show was worth watching because it had KOS-MOS in it. Man, KOS-MOS is awesome. I think I'll watch it again so I can type KOS-MOS some more. I wish there was a way to capitalize it even further.

I've had my brain sufficiently ruined by those KOS-MOS and Shion 4-koma that when I heard the line "Come, Shion, KOS-MOS is waiting for you", I immediately expected her to open that door and find KOS-MOS lying on a giant heart-shaped bed.

KOS-MOS' garters did nothing to surpress this vision.

I've never played the game nor watched the series, but I'm sure it would be much better if it were based off the KOS-MOS and Shion 4-koma. Lesbian comedy is what makes anime great. Actually, lesbian ANYTHING is what makes anime great.
