Pretty fun so far... I like the whole world they're setting up. However, everything suffers greatly from a lack of major backstory hints. The minor ones convey enough.
After Amaenaideyo! and Suzuka, this is up there with FMP: TSR as the ones to watch this season. But with Otakon coming up, I'm worried that ADV is going to put the clamp down on TSR and claim the license. No way they'll let it go to someone else. Five bucks says that Geneon and Funimation come to blows over the licensing of TLB.

Maybe because that crazy ostrich and the pregnant loli (WTF?) just bugged the hell outta me.
It's quite fun, really. My only complaints are

Considering the fact that a recent disaster caused the death of 6 billion people, I'd think people would want to pump out babies as early and as often as possible.

She's insanely strong. If she was raped it would have needed to be a gang rape, and she would look broken somewhat, which she doesn't. Also she would have mixed feelings toward her kid, which she doesn't. Also she would be wary of men to some degree, which she doesn't.
The "you have to be 18 before to get married/have babies" is a completely artificial number made up by this current society. In a primitive society death can happen at any moment. I doubt the concept of marriage (with bells and paperwork) even exist in that Tide Line Blue island society, except maybe in the "old guard" group. There has to be ties, however. The way she is avoiding the wooing of the hero indicates to me she's still counting on another alpha male to be her mate, probably the original father, who is probably away-but-will-make-a-comeback, introducing more drama for our hero to battle with.
Yeah, we'll have to wait to see.
