I just saw this on AnimeNewsNetwork.. it might be kind of old, but it starts in February so I don't think it can be that old.

Younger American anime fans are proven to be easily exploitable (see: that puffyamiyumi show), but I have to wonder how this is going to do. It's pretty clear that they're aiming for the "Oh, it's got Japanese, so it's got to be cool" crowd, but the premise doesn't seem so terrible. It's just too bad that the character designs don't look cliche enough, but instead just look horrible.
So, thoughts?
I think they should stop blogging the web 2.0 xml podcastosphere and actually animate.
> show’s target audience of 6-11 year olds as well as older die-hard anime fans.
lol
I don't see any kappa.
FAIL
If it's an "anime parody", why is it full of american-pie superheroes?
this wins my lol
The dumbest piece of shit I had to come across today. I hope the creators get compensated with lots of drugs to silence their guilty conscience.

Seconded.
On the gallery page of the show's site, some of the images have anime posters in the background. Those things have better character designs than any of the actual characters!
> American actor Mikey Simon joins the cast of LilyMu, once the top rated anime show in Japan. Though Mikey is a fish out of water (a raw one in this case!), his crazy antics and style lift LilyMu out of the ratings gutter and transform Mikey into the biggest star Japan has ever seen.
Cartoons have actors?
what
edit: what
this is pure failure
Their "blog" deleted the comment I gave them. So much for Web 2.0.
Er, that is to say, their moderation team hates me.
Nickeoldeon hasn't produced anything good in the las ten years because they absolutely REFUSE to buy shows from anyone new without ditching the project immediately out of nothing but fear that it'll turn into the next Ren and Stimpy. Instead they insist on stretching the same four creative sources out and insist that they produce new material on the same scale of any other major network. If I was a six year old I'd be fucking insulted.
Which is probably why they occasionally pull stupid shit like this.
How do American animators keep getting anime so wrong? Their understanding of it seems to have been formed by watching five minutes of Sailor Moon while they were half asleep.
Terrible
you know, it really could be made by american anime fans. you know why? it's a story about a GAIJIN BECOMING GOD IN JAPAN.
EW. EW. EW.
I actually worked on this peice of KRAPPA for 3 months before I quit in disgust. I'm really glad to see everyone has the same opinion of it that I do. It's going to be HORRIBLE!

Mikey's animation is on the level of an average Flash toon, but the anime-style character animation is at best like low budget 70's TV anime. Voice acting is half awful fandub and half decent. Any criticism I've found is usually countered with the defence "it's aimed at children" so they're obviously banking on selling it to poor youngins who don't know any better.
The dancing sushi is better than the rest of the show put together. http://youtube.com/watch?v=xdf3CmQzrEU
This one guy really tears into the production.

And just to prove anime style can look halfway decent in flash, take a look at this.
