You could have started the thread with some general information about A-Kon 17, and made it a thread for general discussion about the event, and then used that to ask if anyone is going, and so on. Instead, you assume everyone knows what you're talking about, and then start with a single question. Apparently, after everyone has said "yes" or "no", the thread is over.
