Hey i was just wondering if any one has expirenced this???
I just lost interest about a year ago.
one of my friends lost interest in anime
but he is a dumbf*ck
Please use actual English words when posting. This is not a teenager forum. You are also allowed to say "fuck" in here.
I've had a few falling outs, but I inevitably come back after finding a good series or ova. Comics and anime have their own ebb and flow, high times and slumps. True otaku and enthusiasts ride the waves, just like surfers, waiting for that perfect moment when all the forces of nature align and produce a killer ride! Keep the faith otaku brothers and sisters.
I also know some friends who used to be otaku. But somehow, they slowly lost interest, one by one...until I was the only one left. Now, I know they're my friends, but now I feel uncomfortale around them... Of course, we have fun in other things we share in common, but I dunno... Am I being selfish here? Please reply.
nah, it doesn't matter, when you enjoy something you don't need to wonder if it's good or bad. You're not being selfish it's just you enjoy it and your friends don't, you just feel like that because they kinda betrayed the stuff you like.
Yeah, and when it's time to head to an anime convention, they give me excuses or just say no... And all of us would cosplay while we were there...-_-' It's not fair. I sure hope I find brethen like myself when I head to college... 'cause I'm dying over here! >.<
Heh, remember that you're not the onlyone that likes this kind of stuff, somehow I'm not the "Otaku" looking type.. however I do know alot of animes.. let's say I have like 150 anime's ( complete ) and lot of mangas.. however if you see me outside I act like a normal guy ( and I don't look like someone you would call a freak ), the true is that I would like to know some Otakus, however.. my appearence makes them run most of the time(I look like an Otaku hater or something .. meh )
Just try to make friends on the convention, that's what I do ^-^; sometimes I'm forced to Cosplay.. and believe me I get more friends that way :), I just love those Otaku Girls or w/e -.- so cute.
I would like to have more Otaku friends than those "normal" people.
i had a couple of friends who liked anime but they stopped watching and became total asses. i decided never to hang out with them ever again. eventually i found some true friends and they like anime.
however in their defense there has been a decline in the quality of anime lately.
Xypher, did you read post #4 by devildogmre?
"Comics and anime have their own ebb and flow, high times and slumps. True otaku and enthusiasts ride the waves, just like surfers, waiting for that perfect moment when all the forces of nature align and produce a killer ride!"
Hmm.. I guess that the author of post #4 is right, however.. I would like to be able to watch more good animes arround.
I hope someday I'll meet my ideal otaku girl :( , but meh I wonder when that'll happen.
Just have faith I'm sure things will turn out ok!
My favorite otaku girl would have to be Kanako Ohno from Genshiken...Now THAT's caliente! XD
I guess the last thing I can loose is the hope. Anyway I'll check this threat tomorrow. 01:28a.m here at Mexico <('o'<).
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Wow, Mexico! Cool!

"Anime only!" never interested me.
This is why anime has not lost it's appeal, I never stereotyped it in the first place. I like individual series because of their story/visual content, not because it's anime.

The number of really good shows seems to be about the same as before. It's the shows that are one step below in quality that are getting scarce. Not that I'll complain too much, I feel like I can keep up with everything I want to see now.
Very.
just anime.if you dont like, just don
t watch.
END.
this is a bad place to put a thread about not liking anime anymore...
if it's been a year, then dun worry about it. isn't it odd to worry about it?

It is natural for people to fall away from something. If that person has been exposed to soo much of it they become desensitize so they would eventually lose interest in it. Of course it doesn't apply for everyone for example you, assuming you had as much anime as the rest of your friends. If you want them to be an anime fan again like you then you would have to entice them with those rare anime which are actually good unlike the regular crap that are made to fill up time slots.
I feel a lot of your discontent. IMO It's been kinda downhill after "that BIG ninja show" (you know what I mean)and the sequel to that big "game-card" show (with the spiky blond-headed kid) premiered on the cartoon network. Aside from all of the dissapointments and overhypes, the medium's fanbase seems to be almost as polarised as the political climate in the U.S. to be as There's too many snobs (in all age groups) and far too many haters. It seems like all of the media (websites) for the shows/manga that i like(d) are dissapearing FAST to make room of course for the next overhyped bonanza.
and It seems to me if you talk about an old or even a classic anime or manga, you get chided to hell,(Kenshin.......that's soooooo OOOOOOOOOOLD!) Correspondingly, a lot of my fave artists (e.g. Yuu Watase)'s recent output has been dreadful to say the least. I'm losing interest on a fast clip. I've stopped buying Newtype and all of those other magazines and tend to buy only Japanese media (legallly, of course). but i'm trying to keep up the good fight. I know there's something really good coming up.
Only teenagers post in this thread.
I fall out of anime every now and then but never completely. I love fiction too much.
I've never lost interest, not yet anyway. I grew up with the anime hype generation though, so maybe that's why I'm used to it.
I completely agree.
These days, it's getting harder and harder to find stuff that's not all about fanservice and crude humor.
Most anime fans I've met (Though, I live in a conservative part of the world) have been nice and modestish, but I hear about the anime snobs all the time. (I LOVE Kenshin. XD)
I've basically lost interest, although from time to time if something is on Adult Swim I'll watch. But I haven't bought anything anime in a couple years. (I used to buy DVDs all the time, and ask for them for Christmas too.)
