have you seen Suzumiya Haruhi no Yutsu yet? That one's been pretty popular.
etou...
What about FLCL, if you're into Gainax?
Bokurano
Code Geass
Murder princess? ^^;;
Good stuff this season are Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann (Action), Sola (Slice of Life with a little fantasy) and Darker then Black. You might also try Moribito.
how about pumpkin scissors?
Lucky Star is good.

I read the reviews people left for Pumpkin Scissors, so I was all worried it was going to be horrible, but it wasn't. The only thing I didn't like was the lame OP theme :P That said, it's not really excellent but it isn't bad either.
Either way it's not something I'd immediately think to put in a "recommended" anime thread. Actually, the thread creator didn't really specify what genre he was looking for, so it's hard for me to recommend anything besides the "big" anime that come out, like Haruhi or Kanon, though I guess they're sick of shonen fighting anime :P
If you have way too much free time, like me, do what I do: go down AnimeNFO or ANN's "top anime" list and download shit you haven't seen yet. That way you'll probably see a few good things and be up on the "conversational" anime.
...am I too analytical? ( ̄ー ̄)
how about Eyeshield 21? my favorite character is Hiruma.
Romeo x Juliet
It's a well-made shoujo adaptation of the Shakespeare play.
Himiwari FTW
CLAYMORE is a great new anime
Lucky Star.
girls bravo
Japanese animated films are very interesting to see, but that does not mean that all of them are interesting.
In fact, I am an amime lover, but my most favorite kind of anime is rarely broadcast here.
I live in Japan now.
About 10 years ago, I spent much money on anime goods like notebooks and plastic sheets.
I watched the Witchblade anime a little while ago and although it had some cheesy plot elements and some disgustingly blatant fanservice, I... I didn't hate it.
This may seem like a stupid question to ask, but...:
Have you seen The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi? Or are you saving the best for last?
Crap, I didn't read the previous posts... Uh... how about Hayate the Combat Butler?
Sure, there's tons of good anime out there! But tell us more about yourself, what do you like to watch? School stories? Adventures? Magic? Science fiction? Big giant robots? Are love stories your thing? ;) Let us know so we can start digging!
