During nearly a year of NEEtdom now, I've been able to observe myself gradually becoming an Otaku bit by bit, one series and day-on-the-web at a time.

I guess it's interesting to consider, since I wasn't much interested in anime, jpop, seiyuu, manga, or visual novels a year ago. And then suddenly BAM, something budged, I think it all started when I watched a few episodes of Chobits on Youtube, before I knew it my suppressed interest in Japan and Japanese re-emerged and I found myself watching the series over the weekend.

I was linked to NHK ni Youkoso from my Wikipedia research on Hikikomori, and there goes another series, then I rewatched EVA from the beginning (I had only seen a few episodes back in middle school), then I watched other Gainax stuff, then a couple moe slice of life classics, all the Ghibli films I missed, Madhouse, and then a Kyoani/Sunrise binge. Then I started watching new series and bought the Lucky Star karaoke ED CD.

Now I've become a Type-Moon fag.

Before you know it you've got Japense IME installed and floating on your taskbar and spending hours at a time on multiple -chans.

So I guess if I'm not careful I'll soon pass that point of no return.

Perhaps someone could save me. But since that person would have to be a beautiful girl in armor with an ahoge, I think I'm hopeless.
