you know your a otaku when you ask your girlfriend to roleplay as a anime character in bed.

Umaibou IS the best and anybody who thinks it sucks shall witness the death of their dakimakura... muhahahahah
When you dedicate a entire paycheck towards going to a anime convention.
>>90
when you dedicate your school loans and go without anything but the essentials for anime conventions.
when you dedicate your soul to do anything anime-related
When you choose a convention over a date with a girl who you know will put out.
When you liv your life on the bottom of your bunkbed cosplaying L from death note trying to solve crimes with your laptop and you come out only to go to conventions and the occasional trip to the ONLY STORE on the other side of town that sells manga....
*what I do....
>>90
i have done that on several occasions and i room with 3 girls that cosplay at that ^_^ though i am practically their servent when im in the room T_T hey it saves me $80 for a room and its a room AT the convention
a wise man once said
Age = number of years without a girlfriend
Oh, that was me.
age=number of years without girlfriend?
oh no its like me
You get mad at people for labeling themselves 'otaku' in real life.
Because you know real otaku's don't say shit.
yeah g
When you can perform the hare hare yukai dance and the lucky star opening dance? And cosplay when you do so?
To be honest, labelling yourself an otaku seems odd to me. It seems like something that another person would label you, not something you would label yourself.
Though.. I think I posted somewhere that I could be considered an otaku. Maybe I'm a hypocrite. ¬_¬
you know your a otaku when you create a thread titled "you know your a otaku when ..."
when you post on this thread because non-otakus don't give a shit! perhaps i am one since i gave a shit posting one.
i think some of the posters here are trying to be like an otaku? well for me i think being an otaku can't only be in anime there could be in other things? i think...

when you subconsiously use anime references at the worst moments. then my friend...you are an otaku<(-_-)>
You know when you're an otaku when you've watched so much anime all you're dreams are in anime format and you are an anime person in them. (it's true for me; a little sad probably that i'm this obsessed, but hey, you don't think in dreams. It's living the moment. I think its fun.^_^
~sigh. it really is sad but I use japanese words sub-consciously without noticing untill my friends are like "wtf does urusei mean?"-_- I'm one of the rare breed of otaku.the female!!!!!but I am a genuine item Mra ha ha ha ha. I have a few series' on dvd and over 300 manga volumes. you know how fricken hard it is to make fricken 3000$ when you're 14 and don't get allowance!!!!cries it was so hard. also, I constantly draw anime and I'm pretty damn good. Anyways, I also sub-consciously make the "omp" sound when I eat stuff. And I grab people by the back of their shirt or corner of their sleeve when I want their attention. not to mention instead of saying what?, I often say "de?!"(all of these otaku symptoms were only noticed by me after they were pointed out by friends)
Haha, you're a robot.
That's kinda hot.
Given, of course, that you obey Ritsuka's commands still.
Spread your legs.
haha! I refuse. I plan to stay a cute technical virgin until i'm twenty. Until then, I'll make do with girls ^_- I do love loveless thoXD!
>>109 draw anime? Got any links to the videos?
u play with your own hand
>>112
I mean like not actually anime but in that style. like manga books.
>>114
well that kinda manga style, most of anime are based on manga.
When you notice AND understand every single reference to anime, manga, games etc in Lucky star.
Lucky Star was relatively easy.
>>117
I found it quite easy too. A few references I didn't understand, such as the hair commercial one.. but it was okay.
I mentioned it because I was speaking to friends who also watched Lucky star and they missed all but the most obvious references..so I figured I might as well add it on here.
You know your a otaku when you intellectualize about things publicly while brazenly misspelling "you're" and forgetting to place an "n" after the "a".
yay! people noticed me^-^ teh heh
You see something in real life and imgaine how it would look like as if it was anime.
You dream in anime.
...
>When you notice AND understand every single reference to anime, manga, games etc in Otaku no Video
Fixed for accuracy
you know youre an otaku when you want to make a lot of happy memories with your friends !

You know you are an otaku when you forego improving shitty grammar
You know u are an otaku when u start feeling ur first love on age 5 years old to a cute gal when there is someone watching Macross: あい おぼえて いますか and accidently hears Lynn Minmay songs there, until u realize u can't take off her in ur head until u aged 23!
Another Macross thing: You're watching Frontier and you prefer Ranka to Sheryl, especially after episode 12.
That really may be a sad thing when you want Minmay out all people
>>133
Which quite impossible, ya I knew......
I am 131
when you name your son or daughter after anime names such as naruto.. damn he's gonna hate you for life hahaha
That can't be as bad as someone who named their child Rhett though
You know you're NOT an otaku if you need others to confirm it.
You know you are not an otaku when you spend time with real people
>>140

what is the definition of Otaku? To know details upon details of anime/manga/characters such and such??
Otaku would be better described watching something like Lucky Star
it's obsession...my dear...OBSESSION! XD
How come we were supposed to know where our obsession needs to go?
You know you're an Otaku when you stay at home on the computer for about half the day and spend the rest of the time sleeping, and during the day you sing along to the karaoke tracks of your favorite JPOP and anime music while beating your score again on the same damn game and spend the whole day trying to find a doujinshi you heard about that was pretty hot and then just go into a mad fit of rage if you can't.
Been there, done that, and still doing it.
You know you are an otaku when you are the only one who read Dayan

Most does have illustrations which does not make them anime themed
