Thoughts anybody? Minami herself is pretty damn awesome, better than all of those cutesy lolis.
All three main characters are named Minami. Are you retarded?
They just haven't grasped the notion of how the Japanese often use surnames to refer to people even if you know the first name. It's a common thing, and will pass with time.
As for the show, I rather like it. It replaces Hidamari Sketch which has been lagging in the fansub department for some time.
lol....minami is their family name you idiot
I really like this series and it does look promising.
I was laughing a lot while watching episode 2 and they seem to do a lot of nice work such as the camera rotation in episode 1 and the dramatic style closeups on episode 2.
It's certainly a better adaptation than Today in Class 5-2 was, which I feel was somewhat ruined by the lovingly crafted shots of loli panties.
The lovingly crafted shots of faces, however, are excellent.
I'll admit I'm very curious to see what the other anime version is going to be like, however. I hear it's going to be by the guys who did Shuffle, but I have no plans to watch that. I'm not expecting it to adapt the exact same material, but since this one so far has been pretty faithful, I imagine the other one will have a less faithful approach.
ONION HEAD ANIMEって言った奴出てこいw
This is a cool show!
I'm loving the seiyuu and that insane money shot in the middle of ep1 with rotating camera (looks like they rotated Kana by hand)
Also, awesome seiyuu. Minorin for the Fantastic Win.
And also Marina Inoue as Kana is a nice contrast from her work in SzS as Kitsu.
Hurry up with them subs!!!
oldest : MINAMI haruka
2nd daughter : MINAMI kana
youngest : MINAMI chiaki
and yes this series PWN, i like some of the camera angle on the scene where kana came flying to the table ^^ but i still felt uneasy about the style of the lips... i mean... triangle ?
確かにみなみけは面白いよね。
いちごと雰囲気が似てるけどね。
Yeah, I was also reminded of Ichigo Mashimaro.
speak fuckn english please... this is not a language thread
I thought Chiaki was a guy's name until seeing this show.
Why are the girls' upper lips drawn like they were, um, :3 shapes but with the mouth not closed?
OK, having now watched the first episode entirely, I must say that I enjoyed it more than (I think) any first episode so far. I tittered heartily at the routinely verbose, somewhat outlandish verbal expression (translation notwithstanding) and at the visual gags (the onigiri tossing bit in particular).
I guess there's decently produced anime in this season after all. Hopefully the fansub groups can keep their shit together in the face of undoubtedly tiresome modes of speech.
