Having recently got tired of anime series such as, naruto, black cat, bleach etc (Shōnen anime). I've tried some Shōjo anime series and loved it. What romance anime series would you recommend? I've only watched: Kanon, Chobits and utawarerumono so far.
Clannad
ef - a tale of memories
Honey and Clover
Kamichu!
Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou
Nodame Cantabile
Planetes
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
and anything by Shinkai Makoto
Makoto Shinkai's three films... in order...
"Voices of a Distant Star", "The Place Promised in Our Early Days" and finally "5 Centimeters Per Second".
I don't even want to be in a relationship but "5 Centimeters Per Second" literally makes you feel like there's something missing in your life. It's probably my favorite anime film right now.
As for anime shows though, I love "School Rumble". Its romantic plus its frickin hilarious. And Kare Kano...the manga rocks.
Watch those, okay? Then thank me. ^_^
Kimagure Orange Road does hold up quite well despite of its decade
How about "True Tears"
Ocean Waves did pretty well for a non Miyazaki and Takahata outing
Two good ones unmentioned are Otoboku and Strawberry Panic.
I found Kashimashi to be a bit boring and over the top.
Myself;Yourself, True Tears and H2O started nice, but in the end it really wasn't what I like in a romance anime.
Does anyone know if Itazura na Kiss and Special A are in the same vein as these other shows m.3.3.w is subbing?

Special A is kinda like Ouran High plus wrestling, kinda. And oh god, Itazura no Kiss. Christ that show sucks :(
They both have strong romance elements though, although S-A is more of a comedy than romance stuff.
I can't recommend Clannad enough. Oh man oh man I can't wait for that game to be translated.
Only naive persons would wait for a Key game to be done in English
The wiki is making good progress if you ask me.
If you are the lonely and easily depressed type don't watch "5 Centimeters Per Second." If not go for it because it will make you the lonely and easily depressed type, and misery loves company...
If you are murderous or easily prone to anger do watch School Days
>>12
Why would school days make me prone to anger? I've seen the first two episodes and it didn't seem much different from any other high-school romance anime series.
The Telepathy Girl Ran its new and sort of goes that way... well at least it contains a boy and a girl...
You may as well give a try to both Someday's Dreamers this season.
I saw the first episode of Telepathy Girl Ran. It was really good. Very beautiful art and seems like a great story.
Seraphim Call will give you a much needed dosage with love stories
wpWLpFcA, Well judging from your selection try Clannad, and if you want some comedic relief after watching all of Clannad and then the movie try Midori no Hibi, Final Approach, Rizelmine, and Kage Kara Mamorou. You also might like Sola and Air. All these are Shōnen like the ones you've watched (romance anime doesn't automatically mean Shōjo). If you really want a Shōjo Vampire Knight seems to be getting a lot of attention lately though i personally dont care for it too much.
wait let me correct one thing though some of those is actually seinen lol i kinda blur between the two
Diamond Daydreams sports a winter theme using three different arcs
>>14 i wish i'd never watched school days now...
currently watching S.A, it's pretty good.
Shuffle! is another good one, nice mix of tragic backstory, supernatural (although not so much that it detracts from the main purpose of the anime - romance) and school life. nice characters and visuals too.
Tokimeki Memorial might be worth a look too, it's a fairly nice, lighthearted anime.
>>19 i found Air to be a bit confusing, but the visuals are stunning.
oh and stay away from Green Green. from the short intro i read about it, there was plently of opportunites for multiple romance scenarios... but they just spent the whole series doing jokey ecchi scenes. waste o' bandwidth if u ask me
Shuffle is horrid even without expecting much out dating sim anime
>>23 what makes you say that? as in, what makes it such a bad anime in your opinion?
http://www.nihonreview.com/anime/shuffle/ should explain my points
accidentally double posted due to my stupid internet speed! sighs....
You are right maybe that should have said it is a harem soap opera
Sentimental Journey is much better among the other dating sim kind
Here is >>7
I am now up to date on Itazura na Kiss and I think it's really wonderful. Best anime I have seen m.3.3.w. do. I will start watching Special A later.
Clannad [Fourthed]
Da Capo is completely romance, especially the first season
EF: A Tale of Memories [seconded]
Are any of these considered seinin?
I'm looking for a relatively serious seinin anime that happens to have romantic elements to it. I'm especially not interested in young girls, high school, or slice of life shows (or anything with a primary focus on romance). For example, I absolutely loved Planetes (I still baww every time I watch the last 2 eps).
Sorry for not taking the time to research all these suggestions myself. orz
Victorian Romance Emma may be considered the seinen you have asked

Thank you. Based on the reviews and summaries I've read, this anime is primarily romance/drama. While this is not really what I'm looking for (I'd prefer a more serious primary theme) it still sounds like an excellent series! At the very least, it'll be interesting to watch an historical fiction anime that's not set in Japan.
Master Keaton includes anything but the romance elements you hoped
True Tears or Kanon (The newer version), maybe?
Maria-sama ga Miteru
Here's what've I've been into:
Onegai Sensei
Love Hina
Kare Kano
Nogizaka Haruka No Himistu
Zero No Tsukaima
Shakugan No Shana(somewhat)
Karin
Oh! My Goddess
Rosario+Vampire
and so on...
I can't wait for a following of Zero No Tsukaima, and I'm currently reading the Chibi Vampire(Karin) manga, and watching Shakugan No Shana and Rosario+Vampire
