I just finished watching all the episodes and it does get easier to understand as you go on and pay attention. It kinda wraps up nicely in the end.
They do seem to reset your brain along with the series to help you

Only if you pay attention or watch it four times. I learnt the hard way. Although I understood the basic mechanics of the plot the first time around, it wasn't until later viewings that the whole thing made sense. But either way it's a fantastic series, and the story/themes are really fascinating if you can keep up with its obfuscatory, experimental style.
Sites can help about the same as any viewing after the second time
