Senhime Zesshou Symphogear 01

To protect a girl named Hibiki Tachibana, who got severely wounded by the Noise, Kanade sacrificed herself. Suicidal J-pop magical girls.
Very nice animation, like they splurged the budget on it... but forgot to hire someone to write a coherent plot. Like, the redhead says to a random bystander with big eyes, "Don't die," then she proceeds to kill herself.
Does it suffer of the Last_Exile_2 syndrome (=adding pointless cutesy crapola and dumbing things down to appeal to moe buyers)? Well, I'm not sure this is gonna appeal to me.
Baby, Please Kill Me! 01
"Sonya is an assassin attending a normal school. Yasuna is an airhead who follows Sonya around, oblivious of how dangerous she is. This adaptation of a 4-panel comic focuses on the adorable ultra-violence that erupts when they try to get along."
Sitcomedy.
It's nice, but... 4-panel adaptations are always tricky. It's like eating cake for 20 minutes, after 5 minutes I'm stuffed already.
Mo(u)retsu Pirates - 01
"Marika is a first year high school student living in a far away galaxy known as Uminoakeboshi. One day she finds out that her recently deceased father was once the captain of the space pirate ship called the "Bentenmaru". More importantly, the only one to inherit the captain's title has to be a direct descendant, meaning that Marika is next in line to become the captain of the ship."
Modern space pirates.
Very good. This looks like it's going to be a hit.
Brave 10 - 01
"A year before the battle of Sekigahara that ended the Sengoku Period, the ninja Saizou Kirigakure meets the miko Nami Isa as she's attacked by assassins. Her shrine was destroyed by Tokugawa Ieyasu for siding with Yukimura Sanada. Meanwhile, Sanada has been gathering ten warriors known as Sanada's Brave 10, who have the power to change history. The poor "girl" in distress is suspicious as hell, it's more like she's acting like one, and besides, her jaw is too wide. I suspect I landed in yaoi territory. But ok, the banter was witty in this first episode. Let me see another episode to see how it evolves, or devolves.

Power Rangers.
The sappy dialogs put me to sleep, the pretty scenery woke me up. I get the feeling they are trying to do it Italian-style, using Romeo&Juliet as model. The problem is, Shakespeare was not Italian, but a Brit from the 16th century. They should have used "The Decameron" as role model instead. But hey, maybe they are going toward that direction? Gattai!

ALI Project for the intro? Quite fitting for the theme as that music makes me sick, but does this mean the anime has a low budget? Ah yeah, we get served various budget-cutting scenes, even an Eva-like elevator scene, where nothing happens for a long time.
Oh well, I'm not into guro, so I'll pass.
Ano Natsu de Matteru - 01
While testing his new camera, Kaito Kirishima is caught amid a mysterious explosion. Strangely, Kaito wakes up the next day perfectly fine, but with no recollection of what happened exactly the day before. Unfazed by what seems to have been just a dream, he heads to school. Discussing with his friends about the camera, they decide to make a movie during summer break. Summer days are about to get exciting for the small film crew...
Remake of Onegai Teacher.
Actually, not really a remake. But I spent my time trying to spot the differences instead of watching the anime... Will the hero have a memory illness too, or not? And stuff like that.
It's a bit a pity as the artist here is the one who did ToraDora/AnoHana, it's very good and it's annoying I can't relax and enjoy it for what it is. I feel like I'm watching Haruhi's Endless Eight for the second time. Argh!
Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai! 01
The story revolves around the daily life of a freshman named Yuuta Segawa.
Family life.
Fanservice is too heavy, it looks suspicious like if bad things are going to happen next. Wait, didn't I saw that girl in another gag manga? Let's see... ah, "Papa no iukoto wo kikinasai" is the drama, and "Chronicles of Street Observation Research" is the gag manga. But in the anime it seems they mixed together both stories. So, I'm not sure if this is going to be a dorama or a gag anime or a family life anime or something else. I need to check another episode to see how it goes.
Inu X Boku Secret Service - 01
"Protected by the highest security, the Maison de Ayakashi is rumored to be haunted, where only eccentrics could live. In reality, it is a place for humans with non-human ancestors to live. The socially-inept Ririchiyo has come here to improve himself. She meets secret service bodyguard Soushi, who is assigned to protect residents."
High-society demons.
A pretty boy who is perfect and who says to the shut-in loli, "Let me be your dog"? This looks like a girl fantasy. And of course, the real men are the bad guys in here? Whee.
But ok, this first ep was well written, so I'm gonna follow a couple of episodes to see how it goes.

High School DxD 01-02

Spicy red demons.
This looks like okazu, aka side-dish, aka for-fapping anime, but I watched two episodes and I've yet to get a boner, so I don't know. Maybe it's not my kind of taste.
As for the plot, it feels too much like an in-your-face plot. I would have favored a more subtle flavor for my side-dish. But hey, to each its own.
The animation is ok, but it pales compared to the amazing quality of the excellent ED. If the whole anime has been done by the artist who did the ED, maybe I would have reconsidered my opinion.

Cheezy sci-fi. Character interactions seem to be brushed off, I wonder why. Is this for kids? Ah, only 6 episodes. I guess they have to rush to present something interesting. The socializing was boring, but the take-off part was nice. Eh wait, "diving"? So they are diving under the sand? Or did they teleport?
"Doppler"-something? I lost it when they started to use techno-babble acronyms. Is this related to the Doppler shifts of SETI's Project Ozma?
Space Brothers - 01
"When they were young, the brothers Mutta and Hibito promised each other they would become astronauts. Now, in 2025, Hibito has followed his dream to become the first Japanese on the moon, but Mutta has just been fired from his job. His brother reminds him of their childhood promise, and Mutta decides once again to aim for space."

This anime looks to me like a salaryman fanfic, not like a serious sci-fi. This first episode was entertaining, but I wonder if it will move beyond that level.
