i was reading the rebel by albert camus, in which the author promotes justice over arbitrary grace.
it caused me to agree in general, but thinking back to les miserables it is more difficult to come to a conclusion.
certainly no one would argue that by the epilogue of the novel valjean is morally correct.
but is it right to apply such thinking to society in general?

Nice to meet you. I am Unko.

There are many no grace novels now. Their works are less than Les Mise.

Hugo was a member of Priory of Sion. Novels without messages have no super power. Hugo had what he had to write.

I've not read Camus' works. So I cannot compare between them and Les Mise.

I've not read through Les Mise. I am reading Myriel's part yet. But I read Jean Valjean story for kids yet.

I am surprised at Hugo's richness now.

I've found Les Miserables audiobook unabridged at last.
http://www.blackstoneaudio.com/audiobook.cfm?id=1810

Why Penguin has no Les Miserables audiobook unabridged???

Is Les Mise translated by Charles E. Wilbour easier to
read than one by Norman Denny???

If I hadn't started to read the book before I read your topic, I would have never taken a look at it.

Do you know it has taken for 17 years to finish Les Mise
by Hugo, Mr Bookworm? I'm sure you know this because you
are Bookworm!

They say the shortest letter ever written is Hugo's letter
to ask the publisher about the selling "?". The reply
was "!"!
