I was wondering if anyone else makes their own teas. I've just started, making chocolate mint tea from fresh chocolate mint. I might try some lavender and mint soon. Any tips, good herb combinations, etc.? I live in Scotland and therefore grow basic UK/cooking herbs - has anyone tried makign their own 'Japanese-style', Indian, or other teas?

Chocolate mint tea? That's interesting... what do you use to make it? I'd assume fresh mint leaves, but what would you do for the chocolate?

I've found that adding some coarsely ground black pepper to an herbal or black tea gives it a real kick, especially if you take your tea with sugar or sweetener.

Most Japanese style teas you would have to grow and process yourself to "make them yourself" They're not usually mixes. Most of the difference between teas comes from the conditions it was grown in and how it was processed.

Exactly, and I can't process, let alone grow any of that.

There's a chocolate mint plant. I find it's actually better than a regular mint and real chocolate in terms of flavour. Interesting idea on the black pepper, I'll have to try it sometime.

Growing your own Camellia sinensis bush really isn't that hard. Though making anything but white/green teas from it would be incredibly difficult.
