I'm curious to know if anyone has eaten/made it before. While I'm planning on trying it with my family this weekend, I'm not 100% sure of how to cook it.

Actually, I knew about this after watching Taiyou to Umi no Kyoushitsu... :3

I normally don't read this board and I don't know much about cooking, but what kind of soup is that? What are the ingredients?

One of my Japanese friends introduced me to Okonomiyaki. Apparently it's really popular in Osaka where he came form. We made a simple version with just Okonomiyaki powder, cabbage, pork and sauce, which tasted just so so. Later I had a real one at a restaurant though, and it was pretty good. No great, but definitely tasty.

I've made and eaten both before, but only in the restaurant. So I really don't know much about it. Just try not to burn it, and you'll get the hang of it.

i've made it. its pretty easy.

the essentials: okonomiyaki flour and sauce.

ingredients: cabbage and whatever u like (veg)
eggs

heat up the pan
oil it
pour in flour mixture (flour+water)
top it up with cabbage

crack a egg in the centre

pour remaining flour mixture on top.

flip it over and let the egg cook properly.

this is hiroshima style.
