like, say, Megaman 2, King of Fighters 2000/2001, and Tactics Ogre.
ducks
katamari damacy and disgaea
everyone being no one i suppose
Dawn of War.
In fact, most RTS games bore me, or shit me to tears.
Disgaea and Tactics Ogre. I'd say I have something against strategy RPGs, but I played the fuck out of Arc the Lad 2, so hell.

Devil May Cry, Zone of the Enders. The first was just utterly dull - maybe it got better later on but the start just put me to sleep and I just couldn't be bothered. The second was fun for a while, but after a little while it was obvious that it had about five hours of gameplay that got padded out to twenty so people wouldn't complain that it was too short.
Incidentially, I WANT SHORT GAMES. I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO SPEND ON FIFTY-HOUR GAMES. GAME REVIEWER NEED TO STOP COMPLAINING THAT GAMES ARE TOO SHORT AND MAYBE SOMEBODY WILL MAKE A GAME THAT IS NOT JUST REPETITION AND REPETITION OF REPETITIVE REPETITION.
I didn't like Silent Hill 2. I played only halfway through it and then got bored with it.
Disgaea bored me to fucking tears. Tactics-style okay... I just don't like it.
Pretty much every FPS out there. Also, GTA.
GTA, or GTA3 and forward? Very different games, those.
Just about every console RPG. Except for Phantasy Star IV and Star Ocean 2, I can't stand'em at all!

I should've been more specific about that, I suppose. Although I do like the first two better than GTA3+, I'm not particulary fond of either of them.
Hmm... the acronym GTA3 reminded me of GT3, another game I'm not a big fan of, yet everyone else seems to love.
any rpg, especially mmorpgs, half-life2, dawn of war, any more or less recent blizzard game, need for speed underground 1+2
all those crap 3D Shooters -.-;
Counter Strike
Ragnarok-Online
GTA
all other pop crap
Final Fantasy 7.

Play shmups. 30 minutes a pop and they end with this kind of depression where you realize how little your life is worth in the world of superhuman Japanese players ;o
playing and finishing a shmup takes 30 minutes, mastering it and play it like a superhuman japanese player takes 50 hours again ^.- and you can be sure the most of them played it for that long too..
I do, but they have their own flaws. There are some masterpieces, though. Bangai-Oh and Ikaruga come to mind.
Incidentially, both of these games do away with one of the biggest flaws in shmup gameplay: weapon upgrades. Far too many games are rendered unplayable because to survive on later levels, you have to power up on earlier ones and then DON'T DIE AND LOSE ALL YOUR WEAPONS.
Counter Strike
Ragnarok Online/Offline
FF7
R&C Up Your Arsenal
Halo
KOF Series
Tekken Series
MGS 2
There's plenty of more. I just can't think right now.
Phantasy Star 2. The battles were frequent (don't mind much) and god-awfully slow (do mind a LOT). This was after finishing PS4 and I got spoiled by its quick battles.
Also Herzog Zwei

I am so with you on short games. Mags & reviewers need to wake up to the fact that some of us have a life and do not have whole weekends to crunch away on a single game nor want to waste a whole weekend on a game. :P

If you're a superhuman Japanese player, you will survive. I've seen it happen. Watching them weave through a virtual wall of bullets is a revelation in itself.
Yeah, but it kind of ruins the point of having lives at all if the only way you can survive at all is to not even die once.
Xenogears, Final Fantasy 8+, and just about any combat-oriented MMORPG.
Xenogears.
ZENO-FRIGGIN'-GEARS!
>>7 Have you tried some short form Interactive Fiction?

MMORPGs. I don't see the point in paying for a second-rate Diku MUD to get 3D graphics. Especially when I can actually have a meaningful influence on the game world in some of the better MUDs.
I started playing Phantasy Star 2 thinking I'd play it in preparation for PS4, but the endless combat, slow leveling, illogical weapon names and retarded dungeons turned me off in the middle. I still haven't got to 4 :(.
>>23 But then there's less time for drawn-out stories and the reviewers will go "But omg we need a STOOORY! GAMES HAVE TO BE DEEP AND CINEMATIC NOW, HAVE TO BE A RESPECTABLE MEDIUM LIKE FILMS DONCHA KNOW! I WANT TO CRY AGAIN LIKE I DID WHEN AERITH... BOOHOOHOO"
MU* > MMORPG
>>24
You missed my point. I've seen Japanese players die on some stage in the middle of a typical schmup game, start the stage again with nothing but the standard peashooters, and pass the stage anyways (and the rest of the game for that matter). That is what separates the true gods from the wannabes. That is the true revelation. ^_^
Translation of >>32: "Streaming, motherfucker! Do you speak it?" ;p
GTA.
