Phoenix Wright (11)

I was able to get a hold of this notoriously hard to find game recently. The price was steep, but I had to go for it because I can't take advantage of online deals yet. I've played through the first 3 cases so far. It's an entertaining experience bolstered by skillful storytelling and likeable characters even if occasionally there's a feeling of being led around rather than driving the action forward. The alternating investigation and courtroom sessions keep you on your toes with the limited errors in court adding a welcome sense of risk. However, the most significant impression this left on me was a feeling of having gone back in time to the glory days of classical Sierra and Lucasarts adventures. It was a powerful mix of nostalgia and exhilaration that a pure adventure could still be found. I now eagerly await the new Phoenix Wright and Touch Detective.

I just finished the first case of Phoenix Wright 3 an hour ago, and it was fantastic. A short case, but the plot twisting was still as good as ever. Looking forward to the release of DS port of the second game this month.

Trauma Center's character design is nowhere near Phoenix Wright, neither are the stories. They are not very much alike at all, except for the graphics.

I never understood this game. It's more fun reading a book.

Is it basically pc graphic adventure wannabe with mic action?

mic doesn't matter, it's just a gimmick added to sell the DS version to the japanese who already bought it on GBA. and it's a graphic adventure, really. not a "graphic adventure wannabe", i don't know how it could even be such a thing. it's an adventure game with graphics. thus making it a graphic adventure. there's no wannabe about it

It can't be a graphic adventure unless it has absurd puzzles that bear no relation to reality.
