i think games have pretty much peaked. it's all downhill from here (possibly excepting the DS, which still seems to be the most promising thing going). maybe the industry needs another crash to shake things up a bit.

i might add that i hope the PS2 holds out for a few years like the PS1 did, and doesn't die an Xbox or Gamecube-style death.

actually, the worst thing that could possibly happen is Sony intentionally killing off the PS2 when the PS3 comes out. that would pretty much relegate all but the biggest players to handhelds only.
