Rediculously priced games (29)

Hey, does anyone remember how much FF3 for the snes was when it first came out? In canada, it was like 120 bucks (after tax)! That, of course, was the first day it came out. Does anyone else have tales of finding rediculously priced games? I will also accept rediculously LOW priced games. I remember finding a copy of Batallion wars for like 15 bucks when at EB they were seelin' em' used for like 55. christ it's not even MULTIPLAYER.

I once found a copy of Ōkami for $19.99; considering how awesome it is, that's pretty cheap. But I don't know if it would be RED-Iculous.

I found a copy of Valkyrie Profile PSX used at a comic store for like 25 bucks 3-4 years ago.

I regret not buying the strategy guide they had. If only I knew there were faggots who'd pay a lot for a pissing 'rare' strategy guide on eBay.

>>7 good buy! I managed to buy a copy JUST before they magically disappeared. Man, am I happy - it's like the only time i've had enough cash to buy a game and it was actually still there.

Are strategy guides actually... worth money, now? A shop near me was selling off a bunch of old ones for about 50p each. And I won a fucking massive Dragon Quest VIII guide in some contest, if anything's worth anything that one surely will be, based on weight alone.

how much is FF3 snes cartridge now?

11 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2007-06-01 18:41 ID:QE2M1Xg8

right now it's anywhere from 15 for used cartidge to 40 for mint cartridge, or 50 for 3 bundled with 2 and possibly Mystic Quest.

I've always wanted to play that.

Usually if a rare game such as Suikoden 2 or Valkyrie Profile is bundled with the strategy guide, the price will go up a nice bit.

Jesus, i've always wanted to get my hands on Suikoden II, but consistently found myself not rich enough. Why does Konami torture us so?

Was that game deliberately under-produced?

Not quite sure, but hurray for modded PS2s!!

I paid 90GBP for Panzer Dragoon Saga on ebay, only 5 short years after it was being discounted to 20 on the high street. Bah. Still, i don't regret it, as it was very entertaining- should have held onto it, though as i'd love to play through it again.

I also paid a silly amount for Radiant Silvergun, however i wasn't that impressed by it, so wouldn't want to 're-buy' that one

I found a copy of Hundred Swords for the PC some time ago. it was only 10 bucks. I dunno if it was the greatest game, but I couldn't let it go for 10 bucks, and from what I can tell it's stupid hard to find, so I wanted to have it as a piece of history. seriously though, having a "global" unit cap is the dumbest thing ever.

I paid $9 for my starcraft copy.

I'm a wargamer, I play games with hexmaps.

Most computer games range from $50 to $70, Unlike stuff put out by the major producers, Prices don't really drop over time.

Tabletop games, You can spend over $200 on stuff like Advanced Squad Leader for the various modules and expansions, Most games are less but still in the $80+ range.

But the replay value is very high, Most of the time the games have a large fan following which makes new scenarios and such.

1.50$USD for Suikoden II at a garage sale in my neighborhood...happiest day in my life...when I came home my mom thought I found a girlfriend or something cuz I was so giddy...I showed her the Suikoden II that I got and she shook her head...

Holy fuck, that's a great deal.

I know...the person selling it was some soccer mom getting rid of her kids games as he goes on to high school to rid him of distractions...

Should have booted the mother in the head after buying the stuff.

Rock Band is going to be hell to pay.

But really, I would have to say Elder Scrolls Oblivion. 60 bucks for a game that came out in early 2006? I still bought it.

I thought all new next-gen games are around the 60 dollar range.

Meh, Wii and 360 games are copied out the ass here. $2.50 a disc. No progress with the PS3 yet though.
