NIS America is holding a poll asking if owners of Disgaea also own a DS or PSP. Now, this couldn't be some sort of market research to gague potential platforms for future games, could it? :3

Given that there IS a Japanese PSP game called "Disgaea Portable", I'd say very yes.

I have neither. This makes me sad...if a Disgaea game for either one comes out, I might just have to buy the system...

I'm bumping this 2-year-old thread because I was >>3 and Disgaea finally came out for both PSP and DS. I got a DS and now I'm very addicted; after about two weeks I already have 70 hours on my save file...

Good for you. However, the DS version of Disgaea is inferior to the original PS2 version (mostly due to the limitations of the hardware.)

Also, Disgaea 2 is out for PSP while I'll eat my socks if it gets a DS port.

That sounded needlessly spiteful. >>4 just wanted to talk about how awesome Disgaea was, and how greast it is that it's on so many platforms. Who gives a shit who plays which version.

WHAT?!? Disgaea on the DS is just fine! Yeah, there isn't any voice acting, and the resolution isn't that great, but hey, it's Disgaea. That stuff doesn't matter.
Oh, and I EXPECT a DS port of Disgaea 2. Why? Because Atlus likes money, and I'll give them my hard earned cash for a DS port.

I have to agree with >>5 that Disgaea DS is not quite what the PS2 version was, but for me the portability (and the mindbogglingly addicting nature of Disgaea) make up for it. They did the best they could with the hardware limitations, so I have no complaints. Plus there's extra content, namely Etna mode + being able to recruit Plenair.

Anyway, I would love to see a DS port of Disgaea 2, and also Disgaea 3 makes me really consider blowing my cash on a PS3 even though I wouldn't play anything else on it...

PSP Version has everything the PS2 version had and more. PSP wins.

It appears PSP won.
Damnit.
