Not Sure if this is the right place or not but anyway.....

I was looking into buying an Hgame, but im torn between getting a game with a plot, or a game with good artwork. It seems to me that if i get a game with a good plot, then the artwork suffers dramaticaly, but if i get a game with great artwork, then there is no plot. So my question is, does anyone know of a game that can combine the two?

Kanon? But then again, the H makes up a very small amount of that game, relatively speaking. So maybe it doesn't even count.

Hey let's rescue this thread by turning it into general discussion of H-games. And games in a similar format, even if they don't include scenes with fuckin' or equivalent.

I've been playing the translated Yume Miru Kusuri a few nights now, and I'm throughly annoyed with the amount of "....." ".............." "......." in the writing. This sort of narrative almost makes me think that this style of game was written for people with an attention span more like that of a squirrel hopped up on cigarette butts. Certainly there must be a way to produce suspense in writing without filler?

I suspect this annoys me because I'm more used to western interactive fiction, you know, Infocom-style. Those games spare few words in the description of environment and objects (characters etc) of the game since there are no graphics at all. Take "Slouching Towards Bedlam" for instance; not only is it written really well but also manages to be a rather enjoyable game in that few puzzles in the game are pointless or of a filler "let's put a few points' worth more in between here" nature.

Also the translators of YMK do not seem to know the difference between a "puff" and a "poof". Tut tut. Mind learning your native language properly first? I know extremely little japanese myself but even so I could tell that much of the dialogue (at least in the path(s) I've played so far) is translated, to be frank, out the ass.

you don't need a game that combines the two. get a non-h adventure game with a good plot, and a selection of quality pornography, then whenever you make decent progress in the game just load up the porn and knock one out.

Yume Miru Kusuri is pretty popular right now. If you do the Aeka path first though, you might end up not wanting to do the other ones so maybe do those first.

Slouching Towards Bedlam is actually a great example of IF, yeah. When I first ran across it I was skeptical because games from contests don't tend to be awesome, but that one really is, and it's sad to see that most visual novels can't come close to the writing quality of Infocom-style IF.

Can anyone recommend me titles that have a strong hetero-romance aspect please? Absolutely no yuri please. Thank you much.
