ITT SM64. I've been playing this on my Wii, and man is it great. I never had a N64, so the DS incarnation was my first version of this, but the N64 version is a ton better. Water world music is the most win music ever, and the first stage is the most win stage ever.

I'm not sure how you could get so excited. Is there any difference from the original?

No real difference, I just have some love for it.

Almost to the final bowser on Wii version.

Super Mario 64 is one of the best 3d platform action games i have ever played. It was also one of the first out there and plus it was so good.

After that many other games started to copy SM64 but very few managed to be that good and only after many years later.

It so was incredibly easy though. I just wish there was higher difficulties to make it worth playing again.

Incredibly easy? Are you kidding me? Don't tell me, you could find all the stars all by yourself because I am not gonna believe that. I could never have found that star on the ceiling without a help of a friend.

Sure the game didn't have that many enemies to bother you but the 3D environments and the acrobatics you had to do to get around in them made it rather difficult. Just remember the bowser stages, the cloud stage and the clock stage. I think the difficult of the game was the best one to have fun and that's how games are supposed to be.

The only difference from the N64 version is technical. the original game had a really crummy resolution, so when you played it on a TV, it was noticeably blurry, as I'm sure any n64 era gamer would remember. With the release of the game on Wii's virtual console, the resolution was updated to 480p. While I haven't played the game in the standard 480i resolution since the old days, I have noticed that the game is incredibly sharp looking, with no blurs and clean textures.

However, there is some slight downside to this. I noticed when I was in the zone unlocking the use of the wing hat that the clouds appeared with some kind of weird semi transparent 2-D Block behind them. So, I guess it's fair to say that the game might be considered "too sharp" at times.

The most annoying part of mario 64 was the few quests where you have to go run and stand on certain hidden spots in levels, and then these numbers would pop up.. 5 per level, and they're worth a star. The spots are totally invisible and there's no way to tell where they are without running through every single inch of scenery in the given level...

Also hated most of the missions in wet-dry land, the one where the water level changes based on how high you jump into the painting...

Thats not to say i hate the game though. The game rules :D

I found all the stars by myself actually. I stayed up long hours hunting around.

I don't recall this, I suppose there are more differences in the DS version than has been mentioned?

I got to 55 stars on my N64 almost ten years ago. Now I have some Wii-points left so I gonna play it on my Wii soon.
