what do you think is the best hald held console?? any suggestions??
If you're entering this late in the game... just wait a little longer until the DSi comes out.
DS:
PSP:
the two consoles seem about even to me
disclaimer, i don't own a PSP, but i've done my homework because i might buy one soon
You forgot the outside the box advantages
PSP: custom firmware: Emulate Nes, Snes ,Scumm,Sega, etc etc. Play free games (psp & psx iso's).
Ds: Also hacked=free games
for haxxing a psp, you'd need someone with an already haxed psp to make yours.
the ds's feature of closing a DS completely pauses the game, pretty much no matter what, and can remain in that state for more than a week is a huge plus. Especially when you have lots of little things going on. You can just clam it up and don't have to turn off your game and lose your progress.
that last part wont matter to many hard core gamers. but it is nice
i think you could also do that with standby mode in PSP....
actually it depends on your favourite game...
if your like cute and more interactive games, then it would be NDS...
if you like goo looking games, action, racing games, or even watching movies...
it would be PSP~
i love wathcing movies in class with my PSP...
yeah, it really just comes down to games, and pros and cons for any system are eventually superseded by what games are on it.
Most games on the DS are meant to be picked up and played whenever, for long or short periods of time. True, there's plenty of shovelware, there is by no means a shortage of awesome games for the DS. Mario kart DS, Advance Wars Dual Strike, Advance Wars Days of Ruin, Disgaea DS, Kirby's canvas curse, new super mario bros, final fantasy tactics advance 2, Animal crossing, Metroid prime hunters, LoZ phantom hourglass, Final fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV (best remake ever), some great ports of snes and 64 games, and more
For music and 3d graphics, psp has plenty of games in that department, lots of RPGs, tactics, action, racing, weird japanese, puzzle. Final fantasy tactics, disgaea, FF dissidia, Metal gear solid special ops, patapon, wild arms crossfire, Star Ocean 1, Star OCean 2, blah blah
though I'm a DS fan, and I don't have a PSP, I can see merits of both systems. I would get a PSP, but it's just a liiiiitle outta what's comfortable for me to buy, and I just don't want to invest in ANOTHER console. I have enough games to wrap as it is.

You forgot all the awesome Castlevania on DS.
psp:
-it more of a teenager portable
-the speaker is pretty loud
-graphic is more beatiful than ds
-cool games
-a lot of application that can be downloaded(dont be stupid and download fake/dangerous application that will brick your psp)
higher quality graphic and sound
ds:
-able to play at daytime with the sun shining on the screen
-games are more fun but lame
personally i like psp more scince it more cool after all i think ds is for kids(no offense to adult/teenage ds lover)
meh, none taken. It really does have a kid feel.
