In society there is no variety in male styles (27)

The styles to choose from for males in general are extremely limited.

Females can give themselves a fairly unique appearance and can be identified by what they wear and they will usually be found rather quickly in a large area, assuming you have a clear view.

Males on the other hand all have pretty much the same styles, without about 20 styles to choose from, even if you have a clear view, it would be rather hard to identify the exact person you are looking for, assuming his looks are one of those that are accepted by society.

Females can create their own styles by making chances to their hair: colour, lenght, hair do(?)
general apparel: Dress like a man in a tux(?), skirts, jeans, pants, and a wide variety of clothing with various colours, textures, styles decorations.
In this way they can express themselves in a wide variety in their appreance alone.

Males can create their own styles in the form of:
Hair: Length (Anything above shoulders), Hair do(Gel or no gel), colour(black/brown/blonde)
General Apparel: T-Shirt or Shirts, Dress Pants or Jeans or Jogging pants. The colours are extremely limited and decorations are shunned.
In this way males seem to out number styles 3 males to one styles even in a small room of 60 men.

The topic was originaly just going to apply to how little choice men have when it comes to fashion. See any flyer from stores which offer clothing for example.

The funny thing about this is that in most animals, the male tends to be the more brightly-colored and flamboyant, in order to attract attention. I wonder what causes humans to deviate from that?

It wasn't always this case, at least in Europe.

Take a look at the French court a few centuries ago. The men were far more elaborately dressed than the women.

I just had a look, what a large selection, they all look pretty plain, except for the shoe selection that really is impressive.

Though I would say that the shirts in general haven't changed much, they offer shirts in different colours, but except for a pattern change, all shirts are pretty much the same.

Even if you have covered the apparel for males(Which seem to be too big for some people size wise(No XS?))

Male hairstyles are far more limited than females. The only tool allowed is Gel and society seems rather picky about length, and don't even need to talk about adding accessories to the head yet?

I don't agree with >>1. There are tons of male hair styles.

Males hair styles accepted by society? Some people are rather picky. But that will limit female styles too.

It is just the trend in fashion during the last 100 or so years.

I remember wearing hoodies all the time because the asshole boys at school would throw wasps in my hair.

21 Name: Random Anonymous 2005-10-10 09:17 ID:Heaven

How do you throw wasps at anything to begin with? How does that even work?

They were dead wasps. They infested our school, and when they died they'd fall through somehow from up inside the ceiling onto the floor in certain rooms. (Some ceiling panels had been removed as they tried to get rid of the infestation.)
I was in eighth grade when this happened. Pretty weird.
