I just found this in my diary from last year.

September 2005
I guess this dream took place in 2010 or so, the library was "modern" (like a book store) but also old, run-down, and overflowing with unsorted books. It was snowing outside and I was glad to come in. I looked around in the Japan section, and next to the usual travel guides and history books there was a phone-book sized guide: "Hikikomori (Revised Edition)". I started flipping through it, it talked about how you should find your Hermes to set a good example for other otaku, and how Key fans had petitioned to build a statue commemorating Ayu in central Tokyo. The book was huge and overflowing with everything that had been written about otaku and hikikomori. I started reading from the first chapter...

You know, I don't dream all that often, but I did last night. This is what it was:

I saw a person get chewed up by a worm-like beast that seemed like some 3-way cross between those worms from the movie Tremors, the sand-pit thing from Return of the Jedi, and a garbage disposal. It threw him up in the air and I could see it had already eaten everything below his waist... he was screaming terribly. I could've pulled him away, but I knew he was already going to die, and so I figured the best thing to do was to let the creature go ahead and finish eating him so he would die quicker. :\

After that, I dreamed that Gohan from DBZ had grown up (and grown a sharp-looking beard) and was beating the crap out of someone. After a while, he told them to not use their power for bad things anymore, and then Goku (?!) and two other guys just randomly decided to "hey, let's go on an adventure!" And this was the sudden, no-lead-up-to-it last episode of DBZ. The end theme for the show was set to the opening theme from Gankutsuou, and featured Emma running in slow motion, backwards... only to find out that, when she was young, she was Triela from Gunslinger Girl.

... that's CRAZY!

She came to the door with her friend and Jeff. He was angry at me and wanted people to know. She told Jeff. Jeff looked upset. Soon enough her friends started coming over. My Uncle was there and asking what was the problem. I told him to leave and for some privacy. I told her to leave. Her friends forced themselves in. I, one by one, beat them up and tossed them over the balcony. Later on Jeff was making him a sandwich in the kitchen. I confronted him about the situation and why he was with the girl. He was upset and loyal to me, but still angry. Later on I found myself downstairs lying in bed as a brown van pulled into the driveway. I approached the van and its two occupants, a young couple in their late thirties who were looking for directions to Gordon road. The directions were written by Tyler. I was confused as to how directions to Gordon road could lead them to my driveway. I tried to write new directions but decided to write them elsewhere due to my suspicion of the people in the van. As I walked away from the van, the father of the girl from before was walking up the stairs to the house and looking inside, holding some papers and a gun. He saw me and an altercation ensued. I took the gun from his hands and he ran away. I shot him twice, once in the forehead from a long distance and he lay dead, facing the house, against the tree. I looked at the van to see if the couple had noticed. They seemed to be laughing and completely unaware of what was going on. Relieved I began to approach the van, however; the woman who was in the van previously, was all of a sudden standing by the dead mans body pointing a gun at me. She shot me 5 or 6 times while telling me she was happy to do it and she would enjoy the rest of her life and I was going to die. I ended up dieing and feeling empty. I woke up.

Ctrl+v from my dreamlog, with edits:

Walking along the road where my old school was. It was raining. A crowd of kids were about; I guessed they were stone down students going on a school trip. The bright sun suddenly emerged, and the blue sky was scattered with about 20 rainbows of various shapes. It looked lovely. It caused strangers to comments on it to one another. I looked at them until they faded away, and remember wishing I had my camera to photograph them, then I thought ‘would I look silly, photographing the sky?’ Silly question.

With some family members at a grassy park/field place where some events were occurring… party? Lining up for food. Wasn’t sure if I had to pay or not… payment as with badges that were served with the food. No, makes no sense.

I remember searching for someone and some things (some various coloured items, in a videogamey fashion), in various ‘fun-house’ structures.

Waiit. I was actually playing a game. It was like that 3D Doctor Brain fps, in colours and chunky shapes. And in first person (I.e. I was ‘actually’ there). There was a level select zone, a large room with a large round ring of square panels on the floor, each panel was incorporeal and one could drop through it into a level. I explored aimlessly.

Went into forest there was one large, thick tree, with four massive mushrooms sticking out of the sides. (the tree was a rough square prism shape). My step-dad said he use to cultivate these fungi and eat them. They were also useful for sitting on. The one at the back was more irregular in shape. It was like a rough staircase, leading up to a hole going up into the tree. My cousin A went in, and didn’t come back out for a while… he said he saw bridges over pits of red water (not lava)

Going to find somewhere to eat. Went to some sports place… indoor football place. About six tiny pitches were here, all boxed next to each other. Decided that this was a rubbish place to eat. Went outside. Walking along a road with train tracks too… Mum was hit by a small, fast black old-fashioned-style train. It pushed her along for a few seconds, then knocked her over and started dragging her away into the distance. I tried to rewind time, which didn’t work.

Something about a cat.

Since I started meditating, I've had some strange dreams.
The first one really startled me...

I was in this city, I had no idea where I was. I think I was walking in a central business district, and went into an electronics shop. I remember that somebody had told me that in that building I could look into my memories as if my brain was a hard drive of some sort. I went in and asked this guy, who somehow looked like me ._. to help me check my memories. He ordered me to sit on a strange chair and wait for a while. Then he appeared with some gloves and opened my forehead with his hands. I could see how I was inside: my head had 2 compartments, the lower was where the brain was kept, and the upper had the memory drive. He took a black box out of the upper compartment and set it on a computer appliance. A set of images from my memories appeared on the computer screen. I was quite surprised to see my sister with some guy in the screen, flickering. I asked him if he could put my memory box back. He said he couldn't: once it's extracted and used, it cannot be inserted back to the person's head again. He gave my memory box back. I was holding it with such fear: I won't be able to remember anything anymore! I won't be capable of even remembering who I am!

Sadly, I walked out of the store. I came across with some friends. One of them had their memory box extracted too, but was still able to remember me. He didn't look worried. I was desperate.

A few minutes later I was walking with my friend and some strangers down a hill.

I remember, my friend was wearing a blue shirt. And I recognized the hill I was walking on, and the city I was in too. We kept walking down. My friend stopped. But I continued going down.

A sudden breeze came through, lifting leaves up from the ground and moving the trees and bushes.
In seconds, two little white dogs ran up towards me and bit my back. They hung to my clothes so fiercely, that I began to feel pain. I woke up, with a pain on my back from sleeping on my left side.

What is stranger in this dream is that I thought it was real. I placed my hands on my head, cursing. I was about to lose everything that I knew of. Every place that I have gone to, the thousands of persons I had seen, the people I loved, the things I learned, music, everything about life and death, even me. I was about to cry.

"If I lose my memory, I won't be able to turn in next week's project. And I have an important trip next month!" People I talked to in my dream were shocked by it. What was I going to do??? I was so relieved when I woke up and flipped back to reality. It was really scary.

Yesterday I dreamt that a friend of mine just got married.

Soon after that, it was my turn. My wedding day. I was so happy, and, mhh... "very in love" in my heart, you know, that strange kind of euphoria. Everything was organized, I had a nice white jacket, and a lot of my family arrived.

The strange thing is, although I knew her and all that stuff, I couldn't "see" the girl I was going to marry... [understand: in my dream, I knew the girl, but it was as if she "faded away" in the "dream picture", always evasive, disappearing - it's hard to explain as it was more "felt" than "seen"].

Suddenly someone jumped on my back. I guessed it was her but I wasn't sure, so I asked her to show me her ring, which she did. I noticed she was my aunt. I carried her to the rest of my family and when she got off my back, I saw her face and noticed she had a lot of bruises on the face. I asked her about it, and she told me she was assaulted some time ago, a guy beat her hard and then tried to pull one of her eyes out of its socket.

Then I was told to go to the marriage site, that was on the other side of the shopping mall I just noticed we were all standing in. I was late, so I had to run, and I crashed in the wine standings, miraculously breaking only two bottles, which I had to pay for. My father soon arrived and tried to pay, but I managed to before he could.

I then walked to where everyone was standing for the marriage, but when I got close to the 'girl' (who was still that "evasive" feeling) and I thought I'd finally see her clearly, I woke up.

I think I can guess "what" and "who" she was, but still... this was really disturbing, as well as sweet. And a bit depressing, too, given the fact that I'm a longtime single, hehe.

Sigh... speaking of dreams...
most of my dreams are either being chased by unforseen things (you know like in horror movie thing)
or either falling from a very high place and apparently its bottomless and i kept falling and falling and falling.
got a clue whats the meaning of it O.O?

Though recently even wierder, as much as wierd as it is whenever i tried hard to remember it, i never able to do so.

The reason you're having trouble with remembering your dreams is because dreams are stored in your temporary memory. Same case for everyone.

It's training.
When you wake up, grab the last thought that you had before waking up and say it loudly, or instantaneously grab a notepad and write it. If you don't, unless your dream is a really weird one that marked you, you'll lose it in seconds, because as >>210 said it's stored in your temporary memory. So like anything stored there, you have to quickly write it down/spam it in your head to actually remember it.

When you have the "last detail" you usually can remember most of the dream.

Then it's a question of training. The more you do it, the more often you can remember a whole dream and with the more details/accuracy.

I had the following dream:

I felt my hair and it hung over my face (in real life my hair is not that straight). When I looked in a mirror in front of me I saw there were two parts where my hair was longer, on the left and right side of my face. I repositioned that hair so it was a bit more symmetrical and in the mirror I looked really cute and feminine, Bridget-like (although I had black-ish hair). I felt really happy to look like that and walked away.

I had a dream where me and my freinds were at my dad's house and he was upstairs asleep so we went downstairs and turned on the radio and my friend pushed me into the bottom speaker, so I grabbed onto her leg and she grabbed onto my other friend's arm and we all went into the radio, we found a dark city where everything was brown and dark brown and dark red, we wandered around for a bit then we left and we were back at my dad's house, but when we got there this dude was trying to kill us so we went back into the bottom speaker, but this time i was the last one to go and I got stuck, then I woke up.

A few months later I had the same dream exept we were having a party and it was just me and my friend from camp, he didn't beleve me about the radio so i tried to go back in but I tried from the top speaker and nothing happened, he told me not to tell lies to him and he walked off, then i stuck my arm in the top speaker and I felt empty space and i knew it was the different world, i called him back in and he told me that if I was tricking him he would beat me up so i pulled my arm out and it was a Transformer's arm then as he was coming back into the room I stuck my other arm in and it turned into the same thing, he saw my arms and stuck his hand in and pulled it out and nothing happened so he was mad but he wallked away, then I relized I tried to get in the wrong way and I woke up.
can someone explain this dream to me? send the explanation to Zombiequeen12@aol.com please

I went back to Uni. Went to a different location from usual, a warehouse-like building in a place like outside of my old College. This class would, we were told, involve 80% skiing and 20% chemistry. (This has nothing to do with my actual uni course, comp-sci). One classmate requested that we do the bulk of the skiing first, because that would give us a chance to 'think about formulas and chemical compounds' and stuff. The lecturer seemed to consider the idea. I quickly realised I had neglected to bring all my stuff (bag, books, equipment). I wouldn't matter. I was given ski equipment and we just walked to the nearby ski slope. It was really nearby, just like 2metres from the building. It was an outdoor wooden structure, like an outdoor adventure-park thing, with parts that were inexplicably underneath cold weather. Snowing. We first had to climb up stairs. This structure had lots of them. It was like a maze raised above the ground on wooden stilts. I skiied for about 5 seconds. Then I tried to exit the 'maze'. Started off rather linear. Then came to a dead end, where the the path seemed to bend up 90 degrees, then off sideways to the right/back. Then the person behind me realised before I did - you could walk on the sidepart of this distorted section. (Actually, the structure changed while I wasn't looking at it. Blasted dream-physics.) He went ahead in front of me. This section had a piece of escalator embedded into the structure. There was a moving part, even. Further along the path... noticed a place I could climb-drop down to ground level. Some wooden bars made a mini climbing frame. I also noticed a crowd of other customers lining up to get onto the structure - to ski or play in the maze, I did not know.

In my dream, Billy Corgan had been a designer or proprietor of the NES or some 16-bit game system. On a business trip to get a retailer (or other lower gnome on the totem pole) named Mark hooked up, he mentioned Lua (an embeddable programming language used in modern games) scripting and how it, though not ready for fully being rolled out, was in the testing stages. Mark was interested, and Billy explained his idea for wanting to test it, and Mark wanted to participate.

So I watched this video of the testing going down. The way it worked was, four testing volunteers including Mark each lay on adjacent beds, and starting from the guy on the right, they'd pass a bucket overhead to the person to their right (my left watching this). The bucket was wired to Billy's bloodstream so that he would be hurt in some serious way if the bucket was fumbled. Also, a high-velocity nail would be launched at the arm of whoever first fumbled it, drawing blood.

I watched the first two passers pass the bucket successfully on left, wondering when someone would mess up. One of the bucket passers was a woman. Then some Smashing Pumpkins fan and know-it-all who was watching the video with me spoilt it, saying, "Mark's the one who messes up first."

Indeed, I saw Mark throw the bucket in some weird, wrong way to nowhere, and say "Sorry". Then suddenly the camera was in on a closeup shot of only his head. I asked out loud why, but before the know-it-all could answer, I realized it was to spare us the gory details of his arm. The video footage was also cut, so he would go jerkily from saying one thing to saying another. "Sorry about that." "That hurts!" "Ow!" He then started going on about his insurance, how he needed insurance -- and fast -- to fix up his bloody arm, and he said, "I don't really have insurance", implicitly imploring Billy or someone to pay for his insurance.

Then I cut to the know-it-all's interpretation, and he said of Billy: "But he didn't want insurance. He didn't have insurance himself, and he didn't think anyone should have insurance. It went against the spirit of the thing." I thought: What a grisly demo, damn. This had happened in like 1992 when 16-bit consoles were fairly new.

Here are two dreams I had when I was a kid. I've had a few dreams in what I call "Horror Town". It's a very surreal place, always night time, and most of its inhabitants are non-humans. #1 is also the first in a series of dreams involving talking masks.

Horror Town Dream #1
I am standing beside a very, very tall house. The house is sort of set apart from all the other houses in the neighborhood. I look up, and I see a single small window on the house, just before the place where house is so tall it extends into the clouds. Aside from this window, there appears to be no entryway into the house. There is, however, a maze of thorns that could possibly lead to the front door. I stand debating whether getting into the house is worth the bother, when a giraffe runs widle-eyed out of the thorn maze. She turns to me, and her eyes are full of tears. "Help me find my baby!" she pleads. I agree. The giraffe and I walk through the thorn maze, she cries and tells me about her baby. The maze isn't very compliacted, and we end up in a sort of garden area, although the garden is dead, enclosed, small, and spooky. The front door of the house is there. I open the door, and the baby giraffe comes out. He and his mother are reunited, and they run off. I look inside the house. The front door has opened on a closet-sized space. About a foot away from the threshhold, a staircase begins. It is the only place possible to go, so I commence. I reach the top of the stairs, and enter the attic-like room, the room that has the window I saw from outside. The room is full of junk, there are some trees growing in there for some reason, and there is a large boulder next to the stairs. I look it over, and find that it has a fuse. How odd. A hippo in a tutu approaches me, and says urgenty, "Make a wish!! Hurry!! Or else we'll die!!!" I notice that the fuse has lit itself. I can't think of a wish, and the boulder explodes. Confetti flies everywhere, and I notice some curtains in the corner opening on a screen. There are flames. A red mask appears on the screen, and it introduces itself as Satan. I tell him I don't really care. He looks disappointed, and starts to say something, but then I wake up.

Horror Town Dream #2
I am walking down a neighborhood street. It is night time. People are out mowing their lawns and playing with beach balls, and doing daytime summer activities. The people, for the most part, are ghosts, zombies, wolf men and other typical monsters. They aren't vicious, just normal. I proceed down the street, and come to a white one-story house. I enter. It is empty, with leaves and small debris blowing around on the cement floor. I get the impression that it used to be my house. I head to my room, which is empty, except for the closet. The closet is full of my clothes. I walk towards it, and hear voices. I push some of my clothes out of the way, and see that there is a support group meeting going on inside of my closet. Some middle aged adults are sitting in a circle dicussing their problems. I ask them, "What are you doing in my closet?" One responds, "We've always been here." This is apparently a good enough answer for me and I depart. I head for the garage. When I open the door, a newspaper smacks me in the face. My hair is tossed up by a gust of wind, and when I remove the paper I see other papers and several food items flying around the garage. Somewhat more odd, is that Carrot Top is strapped to the garage door, and he's somehow spinning in circles, and he's screaming in terror, "THEY'RE TREATING THE PIGS LIKE CHILDREN!!! DON'T YOU SEE???" I look at the newspaper, and see an ad about a 'pig race'. Carrot Top continues. "AND THE DOGS!!!! THE DOGS, TOO!!!!" I look and see an ad for a pet store that just got some new puppies. Carrot Top's screams become incomprehensible and the wind blows harder and harder and then I wake up.

I was in the twin towers when sept. 11th was about to happen or something, but not. Like, the building was rocking cause there were really hard winds gusting, and I was on the top floor. It was like a mall/office/school. Lynda and I went to the mall part to get food, and I got an M&M milkshake. There were also different weird ass flavors like Zelda Blast or some shit, and Fresh Prince something rather. I ended up running out of the building following Miles. Everybody else got lost, and probably died. It was raining outside, and I ran with my money in my hand, and my shake in my other. I guess I dropped my shake along the way from the building to the burger stand. It was really greasy inside there, and I didn't know which van to get in, because there were vans that came to rescue us by grade.
So I went and talked to these 4 dudes inside the stand, and they weren't much help, telling me to go to the other side of the street. Ended up that van was a van for elementary schoolers. So I ran back across the street, in a big hurry, as I knew that the building was going to explode. They offered me some alcoholic soda, and I was like, no. So I eventually got into a van, and me and the 4 guys smoked a bowl. They took us to this gym. It was a giant ass gym, and April was swinging from these crazy ass strings attached to pulleys or some shit, while cheerleaders tried to do stunts, but couldn't understand how the strings worked.
I guess some crazy shit happened where this giant ass monster (a really cool, nice monster I made friend with) saved all of us by eating the town to protect us, and spitting us back out. It was a giant grassland when I came out. I thanked him, but he was slowly dying due to the fact that he swallowed so much stuff. He told me, looking at what he did, "Did I really swallow that much?" I said yes. He was giant. A giant mouth with giant pointy teeth. He was fat and furry. There were animals on the grassland, antelopes and weasels. Lots of them were hurt. There were only two antelope left in the entire world. I lived in an abandoned building or house (I forget), with some people.
The only thing in the house we had from the world that we once knew was this Chinese meditation book. For every day, you painted something new, and meditated in a new way. I started doing it first, and then my roommates saw me, and started doing the same. I made friends with Will Smith in this big theatre. There were lots and lots of people there, and the announcer said, "Since we have no electricity, we will have blah blah blah play the blah blah blah." So I sat in this seat next to this English woman, and he kept waving at me, so I waved back.
The English woman's husband came back, asked me if he could have his seat, and I apologized and gave it to him. I eventually found a seat, but the view was not as good. THE END.

hm. last night i had a dream that started out incredibly nerdy and boring (it involved arcade games for fuck's sake), but ended with this guy i've had a crush on for years kissing me and me waking up with a massive shit-eating grin on my face.

which faded quite rapidly when i realised it was a dream and my life very rarely moves beyond the nerdy and boring stage

For some reason, I almost never am the main character in my dreams, but the narrator - I see things happening and I think and comment them. Anyone else like this?

Anyway, when I actually am an active participant in the dream, something fucked up tends to happen. Last night, I dreamed I discovered a new flight of stairs in my house, which lead to three new rooms. The two first ones were pretty empty and boring. The third one was a gym, with eight absolutely identical shirtless muscular guys who also happened to be my enemies. I had this huge-ass sword, and moving exactly like a videogame character, I saw myself from the back in 3rd person perspective, and I killed them one by one, each one with an horizontal slash accross the stomach. Then I felt disgusted by all the bodies around me, each one severed in two. I felt like I should show compassion and make sure they are all completely dead so they don't suffer for hours (lol dream logic), but I couldn't do it (lol dream logic).

No, but that actually sounds pretty cool. Being a spectator, that is.

I'm ALWAYS the main character, and generally, I can never tell that it's a dream. I go from beginning to end of dream, acting as casual as hell, no matter what's happening.

Most of my friends say that whenever something odd happens, they know it's a dream.

I don't.

So I've just had this awesome dream about a few of my nerd interests:

I was searching on Google the name of a site, and upon finding the first result I was physically transported to the subway. One exit lead to a secret bunker in a mountain, which I didn't entenr, as the exit I chose took me to a urban area.

I met an eccentric old man (whom I supposedly had already met a few months ago at the same station), and we talked about poetry for a few minutes, before he had to leave for a minute to go to the restroom.

While he was absent, some smoke appeared from the ground, and an huge ant appeared out of it. It was completely red all over, so I concluded it was a palette swapped monster. I attacked first, JRPG-style, and the setting changed to a RPG battle system.

Now I had become Shamal from the Nanoha anime, and I was riding a skateboard in a wooden half-pipe, seeing myself from a third-person perspective, and performing tricks Tony Hawk Pro Skater-style. Each time I performed a trick, the ant took damage, until it eventually died. I woke up immediately after winning the fight.

I always dream of my own demise. I can't remember ever having a happy dream, or at least one where I get to the end with all my bits intact.

Can't remember much about last night's before the part where I was kicked in the stomach by an unknown assailant. While I was down, he grabbed my right arm and dislocated the elbow. Pinned down my left arm, took my incapacitated right, laid the hand on a table of some sort and brought down a knife. Sliced off all my fingernails on that hand and let me slump to the floor. Put his foot on my chest, grabbed a baseball bat and swung for my neck.

Then I woke up. Can't say I'm very fond of falling asleep anymore.

last night, i had a nightmare that i was still with my ex fiance, and he handed me his pinis which he had just cut off, and i was like, wtf? I freaked out and tried to stick it back where it belonged, or at least get him to a hospital, but he was like, no no no no no. I woke up horrified.
I went back to sleep, since i was still tired.
Another nightmare. This time i was in some massive, rich office, of some huge company or something owned by mr. burns, yes, the one from the simpsons, though he didnt look like that one, it was him anyway. I murdered him, and claimed it all as my own, and was all freaked out over how to make sure nobody found out i murdered him, and did a shitty job of trying to clean up evidence and such, while also being filled with greedy glee over all the vast fortune i had gotten.

Last night I had a real long and boring dream set on the premise that I had just graduated college and was trying to figure out what to do.

Things I was considering were:

  1. Go back and try for a masters as well (PHD was out of the question since I didn't want to waste 5-7 more years).
  2. Go back and spend 2 years in a Japanese-related major. (Indulging myself.)
  3. Work for a year/half a year then go back. (Which would pretty much make me finish whatever I decide to do even later in life.)
  4. Go teach English in a foreign country. (Although my people skills suck, and I have an accent?)
  5. Go straight into the workforce. (What I really didn't want to do.)

What sucks is that I probably really need to worry about this, as those really are the options I would consider (but haven't really thought about).

This is what a lack of sleep + a messed up sleep schedule can do to you:

I was doing homework at my computer a few nights ago, but decided to stop and sleep since I had to wake up in four hours.

After falling asleep I dreamt that I was at the house of a old friend of mine, doing homework in his room. I nodded off while doing so, and dreamt something short that I can't recall. I then woke back up and asked him how long I had fallen asleep for. He replied "only for 5 seconds or so," to which I replied "oh."

I thought for a bit and then asked him if I was dreaming, and he said I wasn't. I accepted it, but then thought for a bit and said "I must be, otherwise I wouldn't be at your house."

I then made an effort to wake up, and did so. When I woke up it felt as if I hadn't even been asleep.

I had this dream a week or so ago, it was a somewhat nice dream but after I had woken up I was scared to the point I never wanted to go back asleep.

I haven't gone back to school in a long time. So this is only scary if you're in a similar situation.

I was back in my old primary school, which (I think) is the equivalent of elementary school in other countries.

It was lunch and it was raining outside and the teachers at my school are somewhat overprotective; so the students were to remain inside the classrooms or just around the perimeter. I entered the classroom and suddenly people started running up to me and telling me how good it was to see me again after such a long time. This had surprised me because I thought they'd give me shit about it.

I also had a chat with this girl that was in my 6th grade class. I don't know why, because I don't even like her but I was flirting with her, and then my other class mates, including the ones that had said it was good to see me when I entered started to turn on me and started telling me to go back to my shell. I fled/woke up after that.

It was so bizarre.

I barely remember it, just a few scattered images...

I was working at a video rental place; not a generic Blockbuster type store, but a small quirky place with obscure posters plastered over the walls. I think I'd just started the job.

There was a homeless man outside my work, and I struck up a conversation with him. I remember telling him to wait a little while and I'd talk to him again on my break.

I also remember a beautiful tree.

I wish I remembered more. The scraps I can recollect are intensely beautiful.

Last night I dreamt I was living in the deep future. In the future, the invention of a cheap warp drive had caused people to spread to millions of livable planets throughout the galaxy. In order to keep the most biologically diverse planet clean and sustainable, most nations of Earth had moved their entire populations to their own planets. The United States in particular had divided up into 15-odd zones of 50 million people, each of which moved to their own planet. So, my dream started out in Planet California, which was a place with nice weather and lots of cars and smog, like the real California.

I had decided California was too crowded, so I got in my personal spacecar and went looking for a quiet planet to relax for a while. I found Planet Ellenka on the far end of the galaxy. I knew the name of the planet because their logo appeared on my screen when I came in for a landing (planetary logos looked like comic book covers in my dream, so it was the word "Ellenka" in bold over a picture of a forest). It was very pretty, but no particular group of people had chosen it for their home planet so it was almost uninhabited. I landed in a field of cleared trees. To my north was a small library inhabited by a lonely but friendly librarian. There were some other empty clearings around the library, and to the east there was the main attraction of the planet, an aeronautics museum built by a long-extinct sub-galactic tourism board. There were no other buildings on the entire planet, not even a house-- just a library, an aeronautics museum, and continents of unspoiled forest.

I went back to California and told my friend to check out the planet I had found, but when I got back there had been some sort of spacequake and everything on Ellenka had become weirdly twisted and fractalized. The library now had several wings and books were scattered everywhere. The librarian was nowhere to be found. We went into the aeronautics museum which had also been warped--now there were walls blocking us off from getting to other parts of it. It was very creepy and I didn't see any living people at all.

I was in shock over this sudden destruction so my friend told me, "The galaxy is a weird place. Get back in the car and I'll take you to a planet you've never been to before." So I did and we went to Planet New Jersey, which indeed I never knew existed. The logo for New Jersey was superimposed on a factory and a turnpike. We arrived on the side of the road and went into a dirty diner where I met my friend's New Jerseyite friend. I told him I learned in history class that the state of New Jersey had been part of the New York zone when the USA was divided up, so wasn't there no reason for this planet to exist? To confirm this, I pulled out my sub-etha Galactic Wikipedia, which over the millennia had been corrupted by a "Preserve Amusing Vandalism" policy instituted by bored Internet nerds who had given up, and now resembled a parody of an encyclopedia. So the "Zoning of the United States" article was someone's MS Paint rendition of a 24th century meme and a lousy drawing of New York that made it look like it simply covered most of the northeast. I laughed because the old meme was very relevant to the page, then I showed the screen to the New Jerseyite.

"That's not funny," he said. "It doesn't even talk about the brave seccession of the founders of Planet New Jersey." I admitted I had never learned about these brave founders in Californian history class, but I didn't see why anyone would want to preserve New Jersey in the first place. I have filled in some of the details about this dream but I remember that line very distinctly.

We went for a walk down the street and it was all industrial buildings and SUVs much like modern day New Jersey. We were at the top of a hill so I poked my head around the wall of a parking lot, and it was all bricks and turnpikes as far as I could see. On the horizon there was a river and some skyscrapers so I pointed and said "Look, it's New York City!"

A girl was living in the ruins of an abandoned city with her "village", she left to go exploring, but every way she went was blocked off. She decided to try to get across a break in the highway near the top floors of the city.

She goes back to the other people to tell them she is leaving, but an older woman is there and is mad at her for skipping work. They walk together back to the highway.

On the way, they stop at a sort of hollow pillar with a pile of rocks inside it. The woman explains to the girl that the older residents believe the rocks have protective powers, and gives two of them to the girl.

They get to the highway, and stand on the edge of the gorge separating the two parts of it. The woman asks her if the girl thinks it's fair that they give her food without her helping provide it. The woman pushes the girl off the buildings to her death.

I've just read through the entire thread, and now I feel a little sick, and a little sad.

So many dreams, so many ersatz realities.
As for me, I forget my dreams pretty soon after waking. I think it may be a coping mechanism as I've a feeling that I only really live through dreams.

i want to dream right now, it is 3am here, but I have to leave my house to cycle 15 miles in the freezing fog in 2 hours for my minimum-wage service industry "job"

Sorry too much information there... anyway, I just remembered something... when I was about 11 or 12, there was a fad going around in school that basically involved putting your head between your legs, breathing heavily for about 30 seconds, then standing up quickly with your back against a building while a friend pushed as hard as they could against your chest. You'd get a head rush pretty quickly, and usually pass out within about 10seconds, coming round about 1-2 minutes later, usually with lots of fitting (involuntary jerking of limbs)

Anyway the one common denominator between pretty much all of us that tried this was, that although we could never remember the details, we were sure that we had been to another place, a +real+ place, and that the overriding sensation on regaining consciousness other than an unnerving presque-vu type sensation was the sense that "this place is fake"

This reality, or this life, or perhaps merely my own sense of self. I perceived it to be fake.

I think that might have been the only true feeling that I've ever had.

I've never really spoken about this to anyone, but that memory has been playing itself out in my mind for the last 15 years. I've never been able to recreate that feeling either, tripping on acid and shrooms sometimes leads to the superficial perception that certain scenes e.g. a streetlit woodland, a field of bluebells, etc, look "fake" as if they had been staged as part of a movie scene. Even when shared with others however, these types of drug induced perceptions are pretty easy to identify as mere delusionary notions induced by volatile externalities, as opposed to any kind of glimpse of a wider truth.
TBH I kind of feel that the pioneers of LSD experimentation, "free thinking" and all that jazz back in the 60s missed a trick somewhere, and should have perhaps applied their focus/energies in certain other directions...

Either way, I suppose I will never know in which direction the real fake reality lies until it's too late to do anything about it.

Somehow, Susan, Justin, Chrissy (coworkers of mine) and I were in some bar on some island in the middle of nowhere. Outside the bar there was a tree that apparently had some sort of magical device that would teleport people to where they wanted to go. We felt the need to go home, but didn't trust this weird device, so we decided not to use that and try a raft to get home. The raft seemed to go pretty good, until we got to this one area where a bunch of like mermaid type people had there tails out of the water but there were like a bajillion of them so they actually formed a sort of path. Its kind of hard to explain, but the tails were like some sort of barrier, kind of lke in a racing game where you just collide with the sides of the course. We followed the "path" through some rapids, and next thing we were trapped unless we paid a harpy-type girl $550. We collected weird things along the ride which turned out to be the form of currency. After paying the fee we found ourselves at the bar again. This time we decided to try and use the device, which apparently worked for Chrissy, but when Justin, Susan and I used it it refused to work properly. We did get teleported but not to the right place. It was like a post office type place and there were more of the teleportation devices. We tried using them all, but none worked and one turned into a death machine that tried to kill us. Thats where the dream turns into a FPS/action game. We had to run past the death machine and get to the other devices. We "died" a few times, but we just respawned. I remember crawling through a duct and there were headcrabs in it. The death machine had lasers that were pretty much insta-gib. I somehow acquired one of the lasers, and it instagibs the death machine. The dream ended around that point.

I dreamt there were three kids living in a house together: a boy, a girl, and a robot girl (who looks human, except she can turn her arms into blenders, fans, other robot-y things). The boy was sweet and nerdy but had a crush on the robot girl that could never be fulfilled, because she was twenty times faster than him in intelligence and reflexes. This is super obvious to both girls but they try to be polite about it. One day the human girl got the bright idea to ask the robot girl if she could turn the boy into a robot as well. She works all night to invent a super complex machine (it looked a little like Wall-E) that would take over his body, but tells the girl that it could drive him insane if they didn't figure out how to adjust his mind to a robot's sensory input. So, they show him the machine together, warning him what would happen. He was too engrossed in the robot girl's voice to pay attention, but then he looked into the eyes of the machine and it immediately hypnotizes him and swallows him up. His body becomes androidized, but he's overwhelmed and starts acting out his embarrassing dreams. They try everything but it looks like he's going to go insane permanently. As a last ditch effort the robot girl hides him in a bag and goes to the beach, where the tide is coming in. She locks them both in a shack and starts to drown in the water, yelling to him for help. Then he wakes up and saves her. She dismantles the robot making machine, and then they get robot married and have kinky loli robot sex. Okay, I didn't actually dream that last part but it's certainly implied in my mind.

I've had a semi-reoccurring dream for the past few years. The settings and characters vary, but there's always a confrontation between some random jerk and me. Eventually, one thing leads to another and I go to beat this guy up. I start punching him, either in the gut, the chest, or the face, but nothing happens. He doesn't fight back, and doesn't even seem hurt at all. No one says a word while I'm wailing on this guy ineffectually. Eventually, I stop, and I'm filled with this sense of shame - I tried my best to beat the shit out of him, and he didn't even feel it. Here, I either wake up, or walk away in silence. No one laughs, despite how comical this situation would be in real life. It's like they're not even there, just foils to my subconscious.

When I do have dreams, none of them are terribly pleasant. They're either explorations of my insecurities, brief windows to whatever my brain thinks it wants at the moment (leaving me inevitably disappointed when I wake up), or just flat-out nightmares. Apparently, I had night terrors as a kid, so I guess I've always been like this.

Then again, I rarely do remember my dreams. I could be delving into pseudopsychology here, but I wouldn't be surprised if "not remembering my dreams" was just a mechanism used by my subconscious to protect me (as a child) from the night terrors. If this were the case, it wouldn't be too strange for this "barrier" to have stayed around to this day, blocking out dreams...

I have very similar dreams, only in mine when I go to punch who ever is ticking me off, I lose all my strength halfway through, so when I actually connect with the person it's a very weak punch. I can feel how powerful it is at the beginning, it has power and weight and all my emotion in and I know that if I could just continue that it would do some damage, but then all of a sudden I'm just so weak and it's pathetic. It's not so much shameful for me as it is extremely frustrating.

I also have a reoccurring motif in my dreams where I have to dial 911, but I always fuck it up and have to start over or my phone is being a bastard and the buttons are sticking or my phone is being slow so I accidentally dial 9111 or something. That makes me extremely angry because I'm under a lot of stress and pressure and have a huge sense of urgency and here this peice of crap is being a fucking cunt.

i had this really freaky dream the other night. ok, so i was at school, at lunch with my freinds. one of my friends was sitting on the table and a teacher, Mr. P, came up to us and it was kinda like we were in gym cause he told us all to go run a lap since my friend was sitting on the table. so we went to go run a lap but when we got there, instead of running around the track, we were running around the block in my neighbor hood. i didnt really notice at first and i was like "hey this is weird. usually when im running the track, i can see how much further i have to go, but this time, theres too many trees and houses in the way." thats when i realized that we were really running the block and not the track. then we were like how do we get back to school? cause the streets and stuff werent like usuall and we didnt know how to get back. in a dream i had before, if you went to the park, you could see the school track from it, so i was like "hey why dont we go to the park and then we'll be able to see it." so we went to the park and we saw the track, and the school, so we went to it. but when we got there, it looked really different and i said "this isnt our school. where are we?" but it said our school name all over it and somehow, i knew it really was our school, but it looked so different! then, we kind of got over how different it was and decided to somehow get in without getting caught or we would get in trouble for taking so long on our lap. so we went over to the pool (pool??) and climbed up a ladder into a treehouse/poolhouse thing. by the way, our school never used to have a pool or a poolhouse before! once we were in the poolhouse/treehouse thing, we started planning how we would get back in since a teacher was sitting by the pool. we decided to just make a run for it. so we did. but somehow, suddenly, all my friends were gone, and i was alone. i walked into this room that i think was the locker room, and there were boys and girls in it. they seemed like they were getting ready for after school sports or something. by the way, i didnt recongnise anyone, which was kind of wierd since ive been going to this school for three years now and you'd think i would recognise some people from my own school...finally, i asked some kid how to get back to the actuall school instead of just the locker room. he looked at me like i was crazy for not knowing how to get around my own school, but he pointed out a window at the main building. i said thanks even though i didnt recognize the place at all. in between the window i was looking out and the school, were unfamiliar courts and a playground. my school had courts but not like these, and we never had a playground, and it was never this shady out here. in a way, it was the same school, but it looked like about 100 years had passed and they had redone everything and a bunch of trees had grown. i turned around to look for a door out of the locker room, when i saw a plaque on the wall. i went up to it and it said "in memory of (mine and my friends names), who got hit by a car and died in 2010. then i woke up...

I had a dream once that my best female friend (or, rather, my former best female friend) were dating. We weren't out on a date, but instead we were at her house and it was dark out. The lights were mostly off except for the light of the television and her head was in my lap and we were laughing and joking around and talking about nothing special. We kissed a few times. It was nice.

What's surprising about this is not only how non-sexual my dream was, but how believable it was. Then, from out of nowhere she started to ignore me. LOL.

Oh, I once had a dream that I was in school (I was still a HS student at the time) and the same girl and one of her friends had a Highlander-style battle in front of me. I then got shot in a drive-by by some people in a car that drove through the school in front of me... It phased right through everything until I got shot. Weird dream.

I sometimes have multiple, unrelated dreams while I sleep.

The first one I recall from last night (or this morning, rather) involved me and a lot of friends and acquaintances spending the night in an unrecognizable house. A girl that I like was also there, although neither of us spoke to one another. It was very strange. Nothing worth noting really happened.

Then I had one where I was a cast member of a TV show I really like, called Skins. It's a British show. I can only recall the dream starting at a point that was after filming, like, we were at some after party or something. As I was hanging off of a basketball goal (it was in a gym or something), one of the main characters' actors told me he once took scissors and cut some of the net off of the basketball goal, as a keepsake. I then said that I wanted a keepsake, so I got a piece of paper and asked everyone to sign it. It's funny, looking back, because only that one guy I talked to seemed to actually be from the show, the rest had been replaced with random people I didn't really recognize. But you know how dreams are, everything is implied, so I didn't think much of it. Only about two of them seemed enthused to sign it, after that they kind of seemed like they did it out of courtesy, and one girl asked me to buy her a drink. I did. That's pretty much where my recollection of it stops.

Then I went back to sleep this afternoon and had a dream where I was Spiderman. This dream is hard to describe, but it was awesome. It was very action-packed, which is rare for my dreams. I was in a house, looking for Eddie Brock, and he attacked me. It was kind of like a game boss, where there was a certain thing I had to do to defeat him. I chased him through the house, and I remember at one point he had pinned me down, or the symbiote maybe, and I was trying to pull it off of me. For some reason I thought to myself that they seemed like dogs, you know, when they get all over you. Well, eventually I defeated him, and he said something to the effect of "You'll see me again, Peter Parker." Then I began to walk to one of my town's elementary schools. Apparently I was taking part in a program where I would be staying there, like I said, things are implied so I didn't question them. On the way, I met a friend of mine, who just said something to me and walked away. I stayed for a while, and heard something, so I got down low. I remember someone saying to me, "Do you see a shadow in the air? Put a light on it!" And I commented that if it was a shadow, we couldn't see it with light. But I don't really know who this was, because the rest of the time I was alone out there. I was laying low, trying to avoid whatever it was that was above me, and eventually it swooped down, turned around, and flew off. I took my friend's camera that he left behind, and began to run to the elementary school. As I was running, I felt very scared, and began calling my friend's name, with no answer. By this time it was very early in the morning, far later than I was supposed to be out for the program. I met some kids who had sneaked out and were coming back as well, and we kind of just made sly, understanding remarks and left each other alone. From there we went into the building, where one of my family friends was working apparently and grabbed my stuff, threw it into the room where I would be staying, and that is around where I woke up.

It may be total horseshit, but I think it has some merit. Search keywords that happened in your dream in see if you can interpret it.

I often hear songs in my dreams that I forget when I wake up. Once I tried to write down the lyrics of one, to look it up on the internet later. It's only that I forgot you cannot take an object out of your dream, so the paper I wrote on was lost. Oh well.

Also, I'd like to learn to control my dreams, then try to do the same in my waking life and see what it does. No, I'm not crazy. Yet.

Abruptly remembered dream.

Entering a dimensional plane where few humans go. Pass through portal and customs--all the people there are unnaturally weird, Entlike. Don't want to stay, want to leave for my own plane.

Self gets turned into that sort of creature. Must go live with the other creatures. Enter place again, talk with wise elder who says I am now immortal. Want to see wife and kids--must wait 10,000 years before they pass through portal. Suggests I go for walk in deep wilderness.

Begin walk down path. Suburbs, kids playing next to road. Suburbs clear out and become forest. Walk through forest until I can no longer see civilization.

See beautiful lake that path curves around. Pause for a minute. Sun comes out behind mountain range on other side of lake. Relax and put feet in water. Water pulls me in, quicksand-like. I fall in, but someone pulls me out.

Self in house of very, very old couple (100,000 years). They tell me that lake is deceitful, don't get too relaxed. I thank them and walk down path, avoid looking at lake, towards mountains.

Overhead view--civilization speck in distance, miles and miles o trees, me walking towards mountains.

What is on other side?

My views on people telling me their dreams and showing me photos are the same: If they don't involve sex or me, I'm not interested.

Two girls of my age were trying to break into my house and kill me. I tried to defend myself, while remaning oddly calm. For some reason, we reconciled in a moment. I caressed the hair of one of them. She smiled.

I dream about graveyards

Full of mud and rotten slime

old grave stone and tree with dead thing on rope

the world is gray and dead

the graveyard has a wall around it.

And all the people in this world are dead! apart from me!

I had a dream where I was Densha Otoko. Except Hermes was my sister. At that point it became a nightmare.

In a small seaside town, ten or more years into the future, I met an old friend in a coffee house where we talked for an hour about the 'was' and the 'could have been' and the 'should have been'. Once beautiful, she had been single for most of those years while she followed her ambitions into the early stages of menopause. In times past I had desired her; but, she spurned my advances. Now, she tells me, she has taken a lover. Who he was she would not say and she asked me not to pry. But I just had to know what type of man would steal her for his side, even now as whiskers began to sprout on her chin.

Curiosity (and just perhaps a bit of lingering jealousy) drove me to visit an old Victorian library on the edge of a forest where, she told me, they had first met. Early in the post-dusk evening, I lurked amongst the dusty stacks waiting for this man to show. By a small window, on a knotted wooden table, was placed an unlit candle and an ashtray in which a hand-rolled cigar slowly smoldered away. When I idly lit the candle, what small light came forth revealed the silhouette of a man approaching from the woods outside.

It was him! it had to be!

Quickly, I took a position beside a bay window in a room adjacent to the foyer where I could catch a glimpse of this rogue and then steal out into the night before I could be spotted. However, his footsteps fell so silently that before I knew it he had come in through the side door, where he faced me directly.

It was then, in that instant before I could make out the features of his face, that a horrible screeching pulled me back to the city and cruel reality.

hello my friends

Today, while napping, I semi-lucid dreamed. I can't fully lucid dream because I'll wake myself up(A habit I learned in childhood to stop myself from having nightmares), but I can get to a point where I know I'm dreaming, I can hear whats going on in the real world around me, and I can kind of influence what happens by thinking of certain things and seeing how my brain visualize them in my dream.

Today was pretty boring. I forget what exactly I was thinking about, but it was manifesting itself as a computer screen, not my laptop, but a different one, and there was brightly colored shapes and text on it that moved when I touched it. It was pretty. Then at one point my aunt and uncle started talking, and I was listening to them, which made me dream of my living room, and finally I tried to make myself have a sex dream about my online friend, which I couldn't do. I think I get guilty or embarrassed, so next time I'll try to think of porn.
