Let's say that you are a Junior in High School, you are taking out the trash. You're 20 feet away from your life, your home, and you suddenly get the need to leave. Just leave. You don't tell your parents, you don't tell your frieds, or your siblings, you just leave. You have 36 dollars in your pocket, it's around 6:30 in the evening and you start to walk. Your parents apparently don't notice that you left, they're watching a movie.
Where would you go? What would you do? And also, if you find yourself hitchhiking, and the person who picked you up, (who is, let's say, the father of a girl your age) asked what a teenager like you was doing hitchhiking, what would you say?

I sort of know how you feel.
I have ~$1500 in the bank, and I feel like just taking off to somewhere with it, like Bangkok, Japan, Britain. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of class so I would have to abandon it.
Step 1: Graduate college, earn $1500.
Step 2: See how far you can hitchhike on $1500.
Step 3: Settle down there, learn language if necessary, get job.
Step 4: Repeat.

I've done the randomly wandering off thing before, but I've never had enough money to get far/stay away for long. I'm saving up a load of money now though, and when I have enough I'm just going to travel... I'll probably end up dead in alley in some random part of Asia, but whatever.
Even on a smaller level, everybody who knows me well is used to the fact that I might just disapear somewhere when we go out. Especially at parties or at a bar. I think they're more suprised if I'm still there when we go home than if I vanish at some random point in the night.
