I do hope 2ch isn't as stupid as 4ch tends to be. It seems the percentage of stable, comprehensive, non-juvenile posts is ever on the decline. Am I wrong?

That's what 2ch does to control their spammers, if they get too out of control.

The Japanese have better study habits, so it only makes sense that they would be smarter.
2ch has a much larger user base, and thus a higher number of people who make an effort to keep intelligent discussion alive. There are a number of stupid posts, but there are also enough smart posts to make up for it and push the stupid posts off the board. This doesn't work as well on 4ch, where there aren't enough good posts to make the bad ones drop off the board.
2ch is pretty intelligent if you can ignore the racism of a few of the posters there.

I used to post several times a day. Then too many retards kept spamming and trolling outside of /dqn/, and I couldn't be arsed to keep this up. I visit /food/ once a week scouting for cooking ideas, the other boards maybe once a month. tl;dr: If I wanted to observe /b/tardisms I can and do go to /b/. /DQN/ was another place I used to frequent, but I stopped due to no real reason. I should start hanging out there again, it used to be like /b/ only more awesome and a lot less failure of the not good kind.

The posts there are pretty lame, most of it is just "LOOK AT ME I'M POSTING IN THIS THREAD" and the post some lame stuff in the porn areas, the only good area IMO is the cat section.

2ch has a lot of scholastic forums like physics, biology, medicine, computer science, law, etc. that are frequented by many graduate students, college faculties, researchers, and other sorts of highly educated folks on the subjects. 2ch also doesn't censor political content like this place does.
I escaped /b/ only to wind up here. So far it's not much different, just no images. Makes me want to learn Japanese so I can get away from the retarded basement dwelling morons that post here.

Personally, I think 4-ch has a quite nice signal-noise-ratio, when compared to other internet forums. 2-ch, I don't know. I do not know japanese, but frankly, I think that if there is a perceptible difference in post quality, it's only because there are so many posts on 2-ch. You're bound to end up with some good posts.

Like what? The only posts that really ever get deleted are posts that blatantly violate the rules (Which mostly means they're illegal under aussie law), are in the wrong board, are outright spam ("Hey check out my web site blah blah blah"), or are by a known spammer / troll. (Yes, even if said troll makes perfectly okay posts, with perfectly valid points. Some people are just KOS by now, because everything else would be absurd amounts of work for moderators.)
Also, at least if a post if removed, you can see that there used to be a post here and now there isn't. That's more than close to any forum does.
