Fancy Rats... (4)

I hope this is in the right place x_X So...I desperately want to buy a rat (or a pair of rats, depending on how much they cost to buy and keep happy). The problem is this; my mother isn't particularly fond of rats, and my father just outright refuses to have any pets in the house. I can keep animals outside the house, except that where I live is pretty damn cold, so I don't think that would be a good idea.Is there anyway I could persuade him to let me keep a rat/some rats? I know that they don't smell, I think they're absolutely adorable, and I am fully prepared to clean them out, pay for them and feed them properly. I just need a way to persuade my parents that rats are harmless and will need no attention from them.

do what i did with my snakes. show them you know what your're talking about, make an incdepth care sheet and explain things of concern, like disease transmition and things like that. take them to a pat shop or breeders and show them how sweet and fuzzy they are. if i can get my grandmother to pe a python, i think you can get your parents to let you have a (same sex) pair of lil ratties. also be sure to do ALL your chores without being asked.
and rats are awsome pats i had one (sweet lil hooded ratie)that used to lick my hand and come on command, they're like little dogs lol.
