Glue for plastics? (9)

Does anyone know what's the best glue for plastics? I need to glue part of the base of my joystick that broke off so it will center again. Thanks!

JB Weld is pretty good.

Where can I find that?

walmart, or maybe a hardware or auto parts store. there's also JB kwik which is slightly less strong but cures a lot faster.

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately when I looked up info on JB Weld, I found out it doesn't bond well to certain plastics (probably the most common ones) maybe I should just try crazy glue?

You could, but crazy glue is mainly for just fixing stuff fast. If you want a lasting bond, you'll want to try for an epoxy of some sort.

Well, JB Weld is an epoxy, but I guess it's not the kind I'm looking for. My searches have revealed that chloroform is best cause it actually melts the plastic. However, I'm not looking to be inhaling any plastic fumes, no results for other epoxy though.

Well, you could just do it outside, or have a fan blowing in the vicinity.

Tamiya cement. But that stuff's for models as far as I'm concerned.

I managed to fix a pair of headphones with just superglue and PVC tape if that helps, didn't do anything to the plastic or anything.
