I feel 4-ch has gotten boring and inactive lately.
I still try to check it every day like I used to, but now there's hardly any change, except for boring ones.
It's summer time. All the adolescent/puerile/sophomoric fucktards are off for the summer. Please be patient, and the eternal September will resume once more.
IA is a bad place to talk about this, since it has devolved into nothing more than DQN Jr.
I like to think of it as the recuperation lounge for visiting slashdotters/etc.
I think IAA is one of the few good places left on 4-ch.
My intuition suggests to me that the confluence of poor (and entirely too visible) management, including shitty mods, with an influx of personalities and egos even on /dqn/ (I'm not going to say the T word), has begun to drive good posters away. And certainly I've been spending less and less time on the site. I don't really expect quality conversations anymore. Instead I jump in and stir the hornet's nests and leave, because damn if those hornets don't deserve it.
>...has begun to drive good posters away...
Don't you mean the good poster?
What's with the pluralization?
someone is surely up himself...

Are you implying that all the good posts I've ever seen on this site were some JISAKU JIEN?
I like to think that some anonymous soul descends, scatters pearls, and sidles away shaking his head in despair.
> My intuition suggests to me that the confluence of poor (and entirely too visible) management, including shitty mods,
Ah yes, overmoderation has been plaguing 4-ch, as opposed to more sensible forums such as SA.
> with an influx of personalities and egos even on /dqn/ (I'm not going to say the T word),
lol
> Instead I jump in and stir the hornet's nests and leave, because damn if those hornets don't deserve it.
Exactly what you're doing here. IHBT
> with an influx of personalities and egos even on /dqn/ (I'm not going to say the T word),
Remember that if things aren't EXACTLY the way they've always been, there must be a terrible problem!
We've got to DO something!
What's with all this groupthink on 4-ch lately? All you guys have agreed with >>5 without even questioning it. Wake up! If I don't see some diversity of opinion soon here, I think I'm going to leave.
TCBY

I don't know, but I always sort of liked that about 4-ch. The mix of Anonymous people and tripcoders. I was around since the start of 4-ch, and oddly enough people didn't really start making a big deal out of tripcodes and projecting the ideal that everyone should be anonymous until around when 4chan really started to spread the anti-"tripfag" message.
>>15
The reason people should be anonymous is because otherwise, when would-be good posters find the site, they see a pathetic, insular spectacle of a few whiny dorks talking to each other. As opposed to seeing interesting conversation being carried on and saying, "Hey, I can do this too."
In other words, I am really skeptical if any true diversity can occur without it.
hi, >>16. Learn to read.
Did I mention a reason people shouldn't be anonymous? No.
Did I say there was only "few whiny dorks talking to each other" ? No.
I said there were both anonymous and people who opted to use tripcodes, both talking with each other and not making any sort of deal that the other was using a tripcode or not.
> an influx of personalities and egos even on /dqn/
Most of them are just taunting. Ignore it.
> around when 4chan really started to spread the anti-"tripfag" message.
I think that's a coincidence.
People here are pushy about anonymity because there's massive pressure in the other direction from new users who are used to phpbb-style forums. They use a name without thinking about it. That isn't really a "choice" that we should be "respecting", it's just a habit.
In case anyone curious and new is reading this: Try it both ways, see what you're more comfortable with.
Hi. I can read just fine. You said you liked the fact that some people use tripcodes, and you implied that their opposition was primarily based on 4chan's cultural hegemony, rather than on reason. (Whether you intended that implication or not, it was there.)
This thread should've had a [Vitriol] tag. 4-ch itself seems to be, by far, the most controversial thing discussed on 4-ch.
(that was intended at >>17 by the way)
Speaking as someone that uses a Tripcode on both DQN and L&R (anonymous everywhere else), I'm going to admit (willingly) that I do it mostly to get a rise out of the more hide-bound posters here. Once it stops being a big deal, I'll probably consider cutting it out. Until then, it's too funny listening to "OMG TRIPPFAEG" and seeing people getting their panties in a bunch over such a minor thing.
In other words, once you're done trolling.
Or until you've all grown up. I'm looking forward to this September, aren't you?
I find this thread objectionable. Moderators! Delete this thread at once!
I find >>24 objectionable. Moderators! Ban him at once!
Time's a-wastin' everybody! Let's troll!
Trollin' down the highway, until the brink of dawn...
