What's your idea of a good date? (18)

Well?

Personally I'm real oldschool. If I went on a date (and it looks like I might be next week... Kiss), I would keep it simple, but elegant.

Maybe go see a movie? Let the chick choose. After that, a nice quiet dinner. I really like the Olive Garden, and it's a pretty romantic place. But, is it best to go to a movie and then go eat dinner...or eat dinner and then go to a movie?

The movie can be scrapped for something else obviously, but I think dinner would be important. It would allow me show off that I'm a gentlemen - holding doors open for the lady and stuff like that.

Yeah, I'm oldschool don't laugh

movie then dinner, the movie that you just saw is a great topic for conversation. It also helps you in knowing if there will be a second date. Say, you both loved the movie, or both hated it, there is a deff chance for next date, and also if you playfully argue about your favorite or least fave parts there is also a good chance.
Good luck, mate.

That is not at all oldschool, rather dreamy actually.

Same here. I never have been on a date but if I ever did, that's how I would do it. It is really oldschool, so I would suggest after dinner, a walk through the park or maybe even sometime at Boomers.

You pick the movie, don't let her. Show her you aren't afraid of making decisions.

A good date would be any where you both end the night, happy and refreshed. I really wouldn't know... I don't think I've ever been on a formal date before. Conversation is key, but just sharing and enjoying whatever activity you have set out for yourselves is also important too. Some people aren't great at conversation, so having stuff to do (like an amusement park/carnival) is good for experiencing the moment together. As long as she gets a good impression of you and feels that you are a person she can be comfortable around, she will think it's a good date, and vice versa.

Exactly how and what you do is up to you. It's different for each person and each date. I've been on some walking and talking dates though, those are always nice... at least I know I'm able to perform in them.

A good date in my opinion?

It involves many awesome things.

Actually, as long as I have fun it wouldn't really matter. In fact, going somewhere with a girl will actually kill a fun time more than anything.

It involves cake, some pizza, and stuff

Could you tell us more about the girl? As in how close are you to her? Is it someone you've been previously friends with or someone who is very new to your life? The kind of date you go to would definately depend on who you're going with...

My ideal date would probably be going somewhere like the mall, walking around, talking, causing some trouble, just having fun. Maybe add some friends into the mix too, I would need to get to know her first before I would feel comfortable being alone with her. But then again I'm in 9th grade so I'm pretty new school.

I've said it to benson, and I'll say it to you: Getting together in a busy, noisy place with many other people is just a bad idea. The proper way to woo a girl is to make it a one-on-one event, so going to the movies is just asking for her to slam the door in your face at the end of the evening, but getting together and watching something you downloaded online is good. Going to some fancy, popular restaurant like the Olive Garden is bad, but finding a private booth at Wendy's or McDonald's (but not Burger King or KFC) is a great idea.

It's the small romantic gestures that make a big impact.

Am I the only person that finds Olive Garden far from romantic? Don't get me wrong, I love the food, and I love to go there, but if I were seriously wanting to woo someone, I'd need to do a little better than that. I've had my fill of parents bringing their infantile, obnoxious children to places like that. I've had my fill of people who dress like complete hillbillies showing up there. It's not that I have anything against the people in general, but the ambience the franchise creates as a whole is ruined by the flocks of people that treat it like a McDonalds.

Why not try and find a local place?

Infantile children, you say?

I may sound really nerdy here, but I love going to the Nixon Presidential Library (near my home), or to a museum or gallery. It's both more engaging/original than a movie (ugh), and also I prefer intellectual engagement. Also, dinner afterward, whether eat-out or cook in, is a lot of fun.

I also love playing mini-golf or bowling a lot... competition is fun :)

My ideal date is the one which ends with a kiss and a promise to meet again (in a non-friend way).

Like the old saying goes, Ends well, all well.

Dating in bed is the best.
