College (3)

Basically, I have really, really strong feelings for one of my best friends. The problem is that he already has a long-term girlfriend (who outwardly I'm friends with, but not inwardly; I just don't want to cause drama by saying anything), so I've already accepted that my feelings will never be reciprocated, and I don't expect them to be.
I'm a senior in high school right now, so in a few months I'll be moving to a city about 40 minutes away to attend university. I plan to stay good friends with the person, of course, but because I'll be somewhere else is it possible that my feelings will wane any?
Has anyone else has a situation where you were away from someone you had a similar situation with? What happened?
I've never been away before, so I'm not sure what will happen. Is college a good place for meeting people?

Thank you!

It fades eventually, but proximity to the person often brings the feelings back.

That said, you're moving away and starting a new life, and the things that are important will change. You may not forget the boy completely, but you may find someone else who begins to replace him in your heart.

I kind of doubt that you really ever gave up hope on this friend of yours. If you had truly let go, then you would no longer be so fixated. As it is, you have "secret crush" syndrome. My advice is meet new people and totally forget this guy. Remember, everyone, that the secret to romance is to not make it such a big deal. Also, vote Obama.
