Impersonating a lesbian online (20)

So I have been role playing online for around six months with this girl. We don't do crappy cyber sex, we go for paragraphs at a time and literacy is a must. We also chat a lot about personal issues and she really does tell me a LOT of stuff. We first started as a all business RP couple, but now we have grown rather close and she messages me just about everyday on how she wants to meet me or were I live compared to her. Originally this started as a joke of sorts, I never intended on getting serious, I just liked to pretend to be a submissive girl with a dominate girl. Now though I have grown really attached to her, I know a lot about her problems and I have tried helping her as best I can. I know that if I told her I was a guy then things would be over in a hurry, she has some men in her life now that are very abusive and I really do not want to traumatize her further. She wants to see pictures of me even though I was very clear early in our relationship that I do not show pictures to anyone and that I absolutely do not want to meet her in real life. Even though I made these things clear from the get-go, she has clung to me like a live-preserver.

I guess don't have any requests for advice, I just have this stabbing need to tell someone. I am not a troll habeeb it or not, in fact I think that due to the male to female ratio on the internet and the ability to stay anonymous that this isn't too un-common. I wouldn't be surprised really if one of the many other girls I casually RP with was in fact a dude.

I was actually planning on just toning down our relationship slowly until I can stop talking to her. I may also tell her that I am not interested in meeting in real life. lol I could tell her I live in Jakarta.

Dearest Edna,

I must leave you. Why I cannot say. Where I am going you cannot know. How I will get there I haven't decided yet. But one thing I can tell you, any time I hear the wind blow it will whisper the name... Edna. And so let us part with a love that will echo through the ages.

It never gets personal. Nothing out of the character I might be playing. If it gets to the human level (ie the 'real' person I'm talking to, the 'player' behind the character in the game), I do my best to make them understand although I practically never tell them directly.

Personally, I just avoid telling people my gender at all. There is way too much importance placed on it, and I don't like people judging me by that.

Have you directly told her that you're female, or does she just assume?

I don't know it's a tough situation and I think that whatever we say here to help you will have more weight on you than it should. I only know that cutting off people with going away without saying a thing is not a good idea. I was cut off online before like that and still remember it.

Hope this works out for you.

I have told her I was a girl. My profile any everything says that I am a lesbian, I even put effort forward when it came to remembering my size specifications, hair color, eye color and weight and telling lesbians my fake name.

How do you cyber without disclosing your gender? Do penises and vaginas just get treated like extra-dimensional objects that can be summoned at any time?

I impersonated a girl when I was 11 years old. And this guy was like, "hey send me a pic" and I'd yahoo or altavista image search Lee Jung Hyun pics and send them. It was so fun though. It was sorta like feeding your own desire for something. Like, you want to meet a girl so you become one to another person. It's funny.

As for you situation, Uh, I don't see the problem with not telling her that you're actually a guy. And there probably are myriads of people who do the whole b.s. roleplay business.

That's what I think when I read dystopia novels, or watch or read matrix (fan) stuff. What good is the truth when you don't know your reality is an illusion. Everything that's real to you is made real to you regardless of whether it's really real or not.

Do a lot of people have really messed up childhoods? My parents are pretty absent from my life, and I used to feel lonely, but I feel comfortable alone. When they're home I don't feel comfortable. I think it's because I was addicted to porn for the longest time and when someone is home I was always nervous they'd come in and catch me. Ha. If that's something to be "caught" for. I did get caught and now my computer is in the kitchen, lol. I might do the whole bs rp thing too. Sounds like a no strings attached solution to cravings of company and peer friendship.

I do, but I haven't done it in awhile. I did it about 4 years ago to get into a good Direct Connect hub. :3

I've been through the same situation before. Really, at this point, anything you do will hurt her.
You can keep up the lie, but she think the fact you don't send pictures is because something she said or did offended or disgusted her.
Or you can tell her the truth, I think, lesbian or no, she thinks of you as a friend. And you sprouting a penis won't change that.
