How do you get over a guy? (10)

For various reasons, I can't like a boy that I'm starting to develop feelings for. One of the many reasons are because he's not going out with anyone but there's a girl I know who likes him too, and I don't want to hurt her (and she knows that I know that she likes him; practically everyone does).

So for the better or for worse, I need to get over him and completely get rid of my feelings for him before it's too late ;_; What can I do to get over him? Please help me... :'(

I can't ignore him or avoid him because I have to spend time with him at least 2 times a week, and he's always emailing/facebooking me and I feel that it's not fair to him if I start to ignore him and start to be hostile/cold towards him out of nowhere because of my selfish feelings. So I just want to get over him quickly so that nobody has to hurt anymore :)

Please offer me some advice! ;_;

>>2 is right. You need to meet other people, and find other people to like. Also, reduce exposure to him, even if you don't need to flat out ignore him.

This being said, I think you girls are forgetting one side of the equation: the guy... Is he at all interested in the other girl? In you? He also has his part to play here, you can't just distribute guys among girls ^_^

So before giving up on the guy, do make sure he's really interested on the other girl, or more importantly, if he's not interested in you. After all, you do say he's constantly e-mailing you. It would be stupid to frustrate his feelings and yours just to safeguard your friend's unrequited love.

mm good idea, >>3!
I'm pretty sure he's interested in her. For various circumstances (which are kinda similar to mine), he's not allowed to date but he's always hanging out with her and stuff. And I'm pretty sure he's not interested in me: I told him once that a guy that I wasn't really interested in was bothering me, and he told me to give him a chance! -_-;

But yes, I think you're right >_<; haha

Well, his emails are purely out of platonic intentions, I'm sure. I'll just be rooting for them, I suppose. My feelings aren't serious for him enough (yet) for me to be really upset, but I still want to kill these feelings while I can >_<

So do you have any other suggestions besides distancing myself and getting a new obsession? lol

And thank you guys ;_;

I think you souldn't give it much thought. You know, the more you try to forget, the more you think about it.

There are more things to focuse on, anything will do. If you really aren't that into him yet, you should be fine!

Be brave!

Aw, don't break the other girl's heart!
just let him go.
go watch some tv, run, etc. to get your mind off him.

if you really want to stop liking him, well.. you can't really..
You'll get over him in time.
OR...
(lets forget about the other girl for now..) ask him out! It's a win win situation. If he rejects you, you'll stop liking him eventually, and if he likes you back, that's good too.
Hope that helps. ^ _ ^
