Does anyone know where to buy untranslated Japanese mangas? Any genre's fine, but I'd like to read some romantic comedies. (I'm in need of some comedy. No hentai please!)
Thanks!
amazon.co.jp?
English language sites:
www.animaxis.com - pretty good selection (esp newer titles) and good prices, but the S&H is killer
www.sasugabooks.com - ok prices (markup on Japanese price) but can do special orders free of charge. Decent shipping within USA
www.japan-manga.jp - low prices because it is used, though still higher than used Japanese manga usually cost (they are bout $3 per book). Low S&H for a Japanese site. The site's search function is messed up, search for only 1 word from the title. This is the site I order from the most.
www.fujisan.com - has English & Japanese. I think they only ship to the USA. But they sell magazine subscriptions and stuff.
Japanese
amazon.co.jp - I haven't ordered from them. Normal Japanese prices.
ebookoff.co.jp - Haven't ordered from them, but they do ship overseas. Very cheap prices ($1-3). If you live anywhere near New York City, it's worth a trip to their NYC store.
There were a couple others, but I don't remember now. I'll link em later if I do. Also check out conventions if you can, to save on S&H. Sorry all the reviews are USA based, but that's where I live so that's all I can speak for.
Thanks, the main thing I'm worried about is shipping! But a few of these don't seem like they'll be that expensive, so thanks again!
Glad to help :)
In japanese:
http://www.mangaoh.co.jp/
Have a large selection (regular manga of course, but other stuffs as well) and interesting prices. They even have some pages in English.
Kunikoniya?
Also I forgot www.jpqueen.com
>>7
Kinokuniya has few non-Japanese locations, and their prices are kinda high, ordering on the web is ofen cheaper, even with S&H costs... (T_T) But I still buy from Kinokuniya when I'm in the area so I can read it right away!!
if you are close to a bigger city you should look for japanese bookstores aswell. most of them should carry manga (and everytime i visited one they had a lot of :o)
Also make sure you check Mandarake. They have some rare titles in there, some autographed by famous Mangakas.
Yeah, they have nice stuff on Mandarake, the other day I purchased the original script for Cowboy Bebop Session #23 for 1,300 yen, pretty nice stuff.
BTW,how do you put hyperlinks here?I usually do it like Kuruze but it seems it doesn't work that way here.
just type or paste the url and it's done automatically. http://foo.
