As most of you may not know, Cave's latest arcade hit, Ibara, is coming soon to the PS2. There is a manga online, which I believe may follow some sort of a back-story for the game. The manga can be found here: http://www.cave.co.jp/webmanga/ibara/index.html
It's in flash format. However, if someone actually wants to take the time to translate this, I have screencaps of every pause (i.e. "turn the page") point. I could zip and send it to someone if they're interested.
I really have no freakin' clue what's going on. Something involving a dead bird. o_O Information on the world of Ibara can be found here:
http://japan.classicgaming.gamespy.com/bn_inf.php?type=translation&id=1294&p=1(for reference to the characters portrayed, for those interested.)
I really don't have much to offer, money-wise, but if non-US-licensed Japan-warez are your thing, we could strike some kind of a deal, providing you can translate this in its entireity. (save for the occasional farked-up kanji.)
You really have no idea why fan translators do what they do, right?
Bird: (birdsong)
?: The damege by Meidi is extending...19%... 20%... exceeded!
Meidi: (laugh)
Meidi: Look, Midi. Isn't it great?
?: Midi destroyed Powerhouse and important installations... Destruction Point +8!
Midi: (laugh)
Hey, I was just making an offer. ^_^; This is appreciated...
日本語でも書き込みできるの?
It seems my English ability is not good enough to translate word for word, so I'll post a summary instead. Skip it if you don't like it.
Teresa is strolling in her rose garden. She pricks her finger on a rose thorn. She licks her blood.
Meidi and Midi are bombing city. They are competing their score each other.(Meidi talks like immature girl and Midi talks boyishly.) Meidi finds she is losing, only to turn switches and fire all missiles at once. Midi tries to stop her, shouting "You can't damage outside the training space!" Now we find it's a mock battle. One of the missiles gets across the barrier of training field and blows Teresa's rose garden away. Meidi cries for fear of getting punished by Mother (Teresa). Midi lullingly says that the automatic repairing function will restore the garden sooner.
The repairing begins but roses and a small thing (bird) don't move at all. Midi wonders why, and Meidi cries again.(Looks like the girls don't know that life is mortal.) Midi hits on the idea of asking Kasumi to repair the garden and the small thing before Mother realizes their fault. Meidi smiles with a sense of relief.
Random-- you're so kewl, asking me a question in a language I can't read. :D
thanks Meddler. ^.^ Nice to know what's going on. XD
Random-- are you Japanese? o_O
At first, your Japanese reply seemed like something a wapanese (wannabe-Japanese) kid would do, like "i insult you in a language you don't understand!", but now I'm thinking you're Japanese, and asking a question in Japanese to find a translator? o_O If so, thanks. ^^

I ARE PWNT!
Guess I didn't know, I never posted as Anonymous here. ^^;;
....the anonymous posts in this thread now make complete sense, being unconnected to each other. XD
Start posting anonymously. As it is now, your name is a big flag that says "I'M A COMPLETE IDIOT".
>>12 I'd rather be an idiotic somebody, than an anonymous nobody. o_O
enjoy that flag, then! also plz to read up on the purpose of boards such as this. it is anonymous' sincere hope that you will feel silly upon doing so
>>14 ....ok, read up on it. now what? i'm confused, apparently i should feel silly but i don't. o_O
In that case, don't mind him.
>>16 gotcha.
Then we shall continue to treat you as an idiot, if that is what you desire.
>>18 o_O what's the deal with you?
>>12 And no, I'm not going to hide behind the Shield of Anonymity. Thanks for the offer, though... But that's like saying "Become one of ussss, Missster Aaaanderson!"
No, it's like saying "Get over yourself, already". Nobody cares who you are. It's not a "shield", it's an acknowledgement that nobody wants to know who you are, and that you are more interested in being judged on what you say and not who you are.
>>21 thanks, I didn't know individuality went out of style.
>>22 is an individual, just like everyone else!
So what's the point of this thread?
Zwei is DQN, i will enlighten the situation.
anonymity promotes posts based on facts and what the post is made of, and prevents posts made by reputation and influence. Lets say member A posts for a long time at a board and everyone gets used to him and begin to accept him. He has a reputation and what he says will have more influence or strength than what a new poster that nobody knows about can say.
it also works the other way , a poster that is hated and dispised might want to say something true, but people will ignore him because they hate him already or remember his mistakes. If you are anonymous people will take you seriously and read your post like they would any other, since they dont know that it was you from before.
unless you are somekind of hero or superior being nobody will care if you are Zwei.
Who cares?
sage
Zwei is lucky, he will learn one day and once he starts posting as Anonymous, we'll never know it was him who created this horrible thread.
And without a name it can be easier to shrug off people who are goading you instead of replying to them. Look what a mess this thread has become...
